Itโ€™s almost Labor Day, so let's take a moment to reflect on God's design for work.

From the very beginning, God placed Adam in the garden "to work it and keep it" (Genesis 2:15), showing that work is a good gift and part of our calling as His image-bearers. Yet because of sin, work can become distorted, either by turning it into an idol or by neglecting it through laziness.

Looking to examples like Nehemiah, we're reminded that faithful work combines prayer, planning, diligence, and dependence on God. As we pursue excellence, may we keep our identity rooted in Christ and work heartily for His glory, not our own.

Are you planning to have shoulder surgery? Your local hospital doesn't have to be the only option for you.

Many Samaritan Ministries members have had better experiences utilizing ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) for their procedures. View the list of ASCs we frequently work with that offer fair prices, more one-on-one attention, and pleasant recovery environments.

Anxiety, frustration, and worry can quietly take root in our hearts when we focus on life's uncertainties. But God never intended for His children to carry those burdens alone.

Through His Word, He calls us to trust Him, surrender our cares to Him, and rest in the peace only He can provide. No matter what you're facing today, true peace is found not in perfect circumstances, but in the presence of Christ.
