Sometimes, people don’t ask for help. ❤️

After an earthquake and then a powerful windstorm caused damage to the home of someone we know and love in Colombia, there was no request for assistance. No list of needs. No plea for help.

Just humility.

But part of loving our neighbors is noticing.

We saw the need, and we were able to say, “Let us help.”

That simple offer is possible because of you.

Every gift to Mission Colombia gives us the ability to respond when we encounter a need: sometimes with a meal, sometimes with supplies, sometimes with an opportunity, and sometimes by helping someone put their home back together after the storms of life.

This is what your generosity looks like on the ground. It allows us to see a need and meet it with the love of Christ.

“Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18

Thank you for helping us be the hands and feet of Jesus in Colombia. 🇨🇴❤️🙏

🇨🇴 Learn a Little Colombian Spanish! 🇨🇴

Today’s phrase is one you may hear often among our friends in Colombia:

🙏 ¡Dios le bendiga!
Pronounced: dee-OHS leh ben-DEE-gah

It means: “God bless you!”

But it’s more than just a phrase. “Dios le bendiga” can be a greeting, a goodbye, a thank you, or simply a heartfelt wish for God’s blessing upon another person.

And there’s a beautiful response you can learn, too:

❤️ ¡Amén, igualmente!
“Amen, same to you!”

These are some of our favorite words to hear in Colombia because they remind us how naturally faith can become part of everyday life.

A meal shared.
A visit with a friend.
A goodbye at the end of the day.

¡Dios le bendiga!

Three simple words that say: May God go with you and bless you. 🇨🇴🙏❤️

🇨🇴 Learn a Little Colombian Spanish!

Want to sound a little more Colombian today? Try this:

¿Qué más, pues, mor? 🇨🇴❤️
Pronounced: keh MAHS, pwehs, mor

Basically: “What’s up, love?” / “How’s it going, dear?”

Let’s break it down:

🇨🇴 ¿Qué más? = What’s up? / How’s it going?
🇨🇴 Pues = Well / then (and a VERY Colombian addition to everyday conversation!)
❤️ Mor = A shortened, affectionate version of amor (“love”)

Put it all together and you have a greeting that feels a whole lot more like Colombia:

“¡Hola! ¿Qué más, pues, mor?”

The more time we spend with our Colombian friends, the more little pieces of their language find their way into ours. And sometimes learning to love our neighbors starts with learning how they greet one another. ❤️

🎉 Happy Birthday, Bishop Morales! 🎉

Today, we give thanks to God for the life and ministry of our Bishop. We are especially grateful that he listened faithfully to God’s call—a call that planted the seeds of what would become Mission Colombia. 🇨🇴❤️

Because of his willingness to say “yes” to where God was leading, relationships were formed, doors were opened, and a ministry of love and service continues to grow.

Please join us in praying that God richly blesses Bishop Morales in the year ahead, strengthens him in his ministry, and fills his days with the same joy and hope he has helped bring to so many others.

Happy Birthday, Bishop! May God continue to guide your steps wherever He calls you next. 🙏🎂
