There is NOTHING like Easter Sunday.

Jesus was glorified, and two people surrendered their lives to Christ!

How different was the first Easter compared to today?

There were no rehearsals.
There was no production.
There were not multiple services.

The first Easter was simple – people witnessed the risen Jesus.

But, how?

You aren't ever supposed to see a dead man again. And Jesus had surely died. They had seen Him crucified. And yet here was Jesus, very much alive.

This is Easter.

And, isn't this what we really want? We're all longing for an encounter with the Living One, because we all feel very much dead. No amount of Easter egg hunts, donut walls, photo stations, or smoke machines can account for the deep longing emanating from within each of us.

At Easter, the promise that we can find life again in the person of Jesus is reintroduced to weary souls.

So if you're tired of the clamor and the pomp, you're not alone. If your desire this Easter for you and your loved ones is to have a personal encounter with the risen Jesus, we are anticipating the same thing.

This Easter, at The Kindred Church of Kansas City, our singular goal is to encounter Jesus together – nothing more.

Generosity isn't always fancy, big names or giant causes. Sometimes, it's simple as this:
We love our neighbors and show up with compassion for the season they are in.

So that's the November giving report: We emptied the giving funds to be all in on the love of God.

More of Jesus, less of us. May it be so.
