"No nos vamos a dejar coger de mangó bajito. (We won’t allow ourselves to be taken as low-hanging mangoes). So when I think about ethnography, I recognize the bite marks of its teeth.

At the same time, I am unsure if the solution includes isolating Puerto Rico from the sharing of herself and her particularities. Puerto Rico has so much to teach and model."

“To say that we’re at the dawning of the age of the Spirit is a concept I find immensely comforting, because as I regard the world around me, I just don’t understand what in the world God is up to. But I trust that people can connect with each other. We can breathe. We can tap into the energetic force of God. "We sense that the old ways we knew are falling apart, and the new ways aren’t yet ready for prime-time. We must do something, mustn’t we? No. What we must do is to listen, partner, and collaborate, allowing new truths to emerge rather than forcing them out of their pupae. When we rush to closure, we risk coming to the wrong conclusions, skipping to the end of the mystery novel whilst never having understood the story well enough to care who dunnit."
