Get ready for Jazz Vespers at United Church on the Green!
Friday Evening, June 12th, 2026 at 6:00PM

Join us for a time of meditation and joy with jazz, readings, singing and prayer presented by the UCG Jazz Trio featuring Caesar Storlazzi (piano), Arti Dixson (drums), and Jim Andrews (bass). Over the past few years United Church on the Green has been imagining new forms of worship and gatherings at the Meetinghouse. We have provided two Jazz Vespers each year, one in the fall and one in the spring, and they have been very successful. The congregation at UCG loves music in all forms, from organ and harpsichord, to choral, and to the experimental and improvisatory. Some of the music at the Vespers will be rehearsed, but some will also be brand new to the trio: improvised on the spot! Come and take a break at the end of your week and spend some time at our Meetinghouse, singing and swinging to the rhythms of jazz. Hope to see you there!

Save the date - United Church on the Green is incredibly proud to host another Pride Prom! Join us on Saturday, June 20 from 6:30-10 pm at our Parish House for a night to remember — including a drag show, clothing closet, refreshments, and of course a lot of dancing! 💃 🕺Open to high school students looking for an open & affirming prom experience that is sure to be a blast.

Eastertide Greetings! We pray this season of Resurrection fills your life with hope and joy!

Please join us this Sunday as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our pastor’s ordination. Thirty years ago, this month, Rev. Ray was ordained across the street at Battell Chapel to be pastor of the Black Church at Yale. It has been a wonderful journey that includes seminary teaching and administration, peer development, mentoring, social activism, writing and lecturing. He is now back in the pastorate; a block away from where it all began!

We celebrate with joy that this milestone happens with this community, United Church on the Green in this place, New Haven!

Please join us for our 10 a.m. service to give thanks for all that God has done.

Please join us for prayer, reflection, story, and song as we honor lives that shape this place of meaning and possibility. This service is a collaboration between faith communities on the green: Center Church on the Green, First and Summerfield United Methodist Church, Trinity on the Green, United Church on the Green, University Church at Yale.
