God, could establish a relationship between us and God; and so we believe that out of God's amazing love for His creation, He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for our sins and show us how to love others. At Bethel, we also believe and teach that this is not the end of the story. Jesus is alive!! Jesus was raised to life and has taken up His throne in heaven where he reigns as our Master and Savior. Here and now, in the midst of the pain and strife in our lives, Jesus is helping and guiding us through tough times and is interceding for us with forgiveness as we continue to make mistakes and fall short of His glory. He also sends to us the Holy Spirit, who lives inside each of us and comforts, guides, directs, strengthens, and empowers us with spiritual gifts to use in this life. As our Master, Jesus' commands are not burdensome...love God, and love the people around you as you love and care for yourself. This is our call as Christians. We also know that death is part of life. But since Jesus is alive, we can be sure that Jesus will raise us to new and never-ending life when He returns! We will live with God forever in a new and perfect creation. But until that day comes, we at Bethel believe and teach that Jesus has called each of us by faith and commands us to go out in His name to share the Good News of salvation!

It’s been a busy and crazy adventure for our Youth Mission Team in Knoxville this week! We started the week in Cincinnati, staying at Zion Lutheran Church, so that we could visit the Creation Museum. Then Sunday we hit the ground running at North Knoxville Baptist Church. Our work project was to tear out the deck boards and stairs for a wonderful lady named Wilma. The students were challenged to work together and listen to each other as *they* led the worksite! This trip is through an organization called LeaderTreks where students are equipped to lead all aspects of the trip. Leaders were chosen to lead the worksite, a VBS for the church host, for meal organization and cooking, and leaders who made sure to take care of basic needs and be our prayer warriors for the week. Today they completed the work project and were able to deliver a Bible to Wilma where they had marked their favorite Bible passages for her. Tomorrow is a day of rest and fun as they head to Mead’s Quarry. Pray for them as they go adventure and as they head home on Saturday.!

When the storm is raging and the waves are crashing over your boat…
Jesus can speak peace with one word.
No storm is too big for Him.
No wave is stronger than His voice.
The same Jesus who calmed the sea with a word is still speaking peace into chaos today.
Fear not. He’s got authority over every storm.

Final night of VBS. We were discussing how we should Trust in God just as the power went off. Everyone safely made it into the storm shelter where we sang songs and praised God for keeping us safe. After the storm passed VBS continued and we had a blast!

Night 4 of VBS was epic! We learned about gratitude, played games and had a petting zoo! We cant wait to see you tonight...
