One of the questions our Life Groups are sitting with this week:

When the Israelites reached the edge of the Promised Land in Numbers 13, they all saw the same obstacles. But they didn’t all see them from the same perspective.

For some, the obstacle became bigger than everything else. For Joshua and Caleb, the obstacle was real, but it wasn’t bigger than God.

Maybe you’re facing something right now that feels overwhelming. Something you can’t fix, control, or see your way around.

So take a moment and ask:

What do you think Jesus wants to say to you about this obstacle?

The obstacle may not immediately change, but our perspective can when we fix our eyes on Jesus.

What do you do when the obstacle in front of you feels bigger than you?

We all face moments in the wilderness where the problem seems too big, the way forward isn’t clear, and we’re not sure we have what it takes to keep going.

What if God is already providing, but His provision looks different than what you wanted?

In Numbers 11, Israel had manna every morning. God was faithfully meeting their needs, but they had become so focused on what they *wanted* that they could no longer appreciate what He was already providing.

We can do the same.

Sometimes we’re so focused on the prayer that hasn’t been answered the way we hoped that we miss the ways God is caring for us right now.

The people around us.
The strength for today.
The meal on the table.
The unexpected opportunity.
His presence in the middle of something hard.

And ultimately, Jesus reminds us that our greatest provision isn’t something God gives us. It’s Himself.

Sometimes we want God to show us where we're going more than we want to trust Him where we are.

In Numbers 9, Israel didn't know how long they would stay or when they would move. They simply knew that God's presence was with them.

Maybe that's the invitation for us too.

We may not know how long this season will last. We may not know what comes next. We may not see the promise yet.

But we can trust the presence of God even while we're waiting.

What would change if you stopped asking, “God, where are You taking me?” and started asking, “God, how can I be present with You here?”

We’ve been walking through our Wilderness series, learning what it looks like to trust God in both provision and scarcity, and to desire His presence even more than His promises.

When I think about wilderness seasons, I’m reminded of the people God has used to walk alongside me through them. That’s part of the beauty of the church. We get to be that kind of community for one another.

You may not be in a season you’d call a wilderness right now, but someone around you might be.

Sometimes we enter a difficult season asking God, “When are You going to change this?”

But Deuteronomy 8 gives us another question to consider:

“God, what are You changing in me through this?”

The wilderness wasn't wasted for Israel. God was using it to teach them, shape them, and deepen their dependence on Him. And because of Jesus, we can trust that even our wilderness seasons can become places of transformation.

Midweek Reminder ☀️

Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey.

In Hebrews 10, we're reminded that because of what Jesus has done, we can draw near to God with confidence. But the passage doesn't stop there. It calls us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds and to keep meeting together.

Sometimes we think church is about checking a box. The writer of Hebrews reminds us it's about something much deeper. It's about growing together.

Who can you encourage this week?

Who needs a text, a phone call, a cup of coffee, or a reminder that they're not alone?

We pursue and proclaim Jesus... together.

What a great day!

We're so thankful the Lord blessed us with beautiful weather and an incredible turnout for Summer Sunday. It was such a joy to worship together in the park, spend time as a church family, and enjoy the pool party afterward.

Thank you to everyone who came, served, invited a friend, and helped make the day so special. We're already looking forward to doing it again next year!

"My weapon is a melody."

I love that lyric.

At first, it can sound a little intense. But worship isn't about fighting people. It's about declaring what is true in a world that's constantly trying to tell us something different.

At New Life, we want to equip people to pursue and proclaim Jesus in grace and truth. One of the ways we do that is through worship.

The songs we sing aren't chosen just because they're popular or fun to play. We choose songs that help us declare who God is and remind us who we are in Him. As those truths become the soundtrack of our lives, they begin to shape our hearts, our perspective, and the way we live.
