Christ Church is a welcoming, family-centered Episcopal Church community in Manhasset. Together, we are anchored in worship, united in community with one another and our neighbors, and we grow together as disciples of Jesus. We are open to all, and invite all to join us. Sunday Services:

This past Sunday was The First Sunday after Pentecost: Trinity Sunday. From there the church year moved into The Season after Pentecost. This season is also known as “ordinary time” because each Sunday is marked by ordinal numbers showing the number of Sundays after Pentecost. For example, this coming Sunday is The 2nd Sunday after Pentecost. During this season we switch the liturgical color from white, on Trinity Sunday, to green for the majority of the summer into the fall.

On The Last Sunday after Pentecost: Christ the King Sunday, we change the liturgical color to white. This is the final Sunday before we move into the season of Advent.

A blessed Ascension Day to you! Join us at 9am in the Church, or via Zoom, for Holy Eucharist.

The Feast of the Ascension commemorates and celebrates the occasion on which Jesus ascended to heaven and took up his place at the right hand of God. This final moment of Jesus’ earthly life with the disciples is told to us in the first verses of the first chapter of the Book of Acts.
•☩•☩•☩•☩•☩
The Ascension is the moment in which the Church is fully left to its own devices, its own fears, its own joys, its own faith, to lead, to live, to love, and to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ without him there with them. Albeit with the promise that the Holy Spirit will be with us, too. In his Ascension, Jesus brings all of who we are with him to the right hand of God. It is also through his Ascension that we, the faithful in his Church, are offered the hope that we, too, will share with him in his heavenly kingdom.
