🌱🐄 Jane often speaks about the importance of moving towards plant-based diets — for people, other animals, and the environment. In a recent piece written for The Cows Foundation, she describes not only the cruelties of factory farming, but the joy of cattle who live outside of it:

"I had a friend who had rescued one calf, and as he grew he bonded with her, and learned to play fetch exactly like a dog. She would throw the ball down a slope and the young bull would give chase, bellowing with excitement, then return the ball, butting it with his nose so that the game could be repeated – again and again. And apparently this is not uncommon. In other words, cows are playful when given the chance." 💚

While some of its common names are heavenly or sacred bamboo, the plant itself is anything but. Also known as nandina, the evergreen shrub is actually an invasive species. Like other invasive species, nandina is dangerous to ecosystems and native flora and fauna. When it is introduced to new environments, it has no natural predators and proliferates unchecked, crowding out crowding out native plant species and displacing native creatures. The berries of nandina contain the toxin cyanide, and bird species such as cedar waxwing, northern mockingbird, and American robin are known to consume the berry when no other food is available, killing them.

One Redditor was shocked to find nandina, an invasive plant, for sale at a local H-E-B.

A recent investigation revealed that Trump may owe the IRS $100 million in back taxes – plus interest and penalties! Trump has been the focus of a years-long inquiry by the IRS for "a dubious accounting maneuver that effectively meant taking the same write-offs twice on a Chicago skyscraper."

In 2008, Trump claimed losses of $651 million for his Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago. He then transferred the ownership of the property to a different holding company that he also controlled in 2010, and reported an additional $168 million in losses over the next decade, double-dipping on tax losses.

This is just another example in a long list of Trump's lies and deceit. He has intentionally skirted tax laws to benefit himself at the expense of the American people.
