Small changes happen all the time, some regularly like clockwork, while other transformations occur across longer cycles. And while some are obvious and hard to miss, like the passing of the seasons, some changes occur beneath our immediate notice, only becoming apparent when the metamorphosis is complete. This can be especially true when the change is happening within ourselves. How do we notice our own transformations, so that we can direct them and maintain a good understanding of ourselves?

What ideas or new truths does summer spark for you? Are there things that you love about this time of year that perhaps could be carried into the other seasons? Join us as we explore things that illuminate our path in our quest for love and justice as Unitarian Universalists.

Jessica Hess (she/her) is a Unitarian Universalist Professional Religious Educator currently serving All Souls NYC as their Director of Lifespan Faith Formation. She has served several congregations as their religious educator, is ordained as an interfaith minister, and has served as a hospice and college chaplain. Serving the children and youth and their families in UU spaces is her absolute privilege and heart song. Jessica enjoys making art alongside her husband while their rescue cat begs for treats or spending time with her now-adult kids and grandkids.
