Today, we celebrate the milestones of our young people. Our fifth and sixth-grade Questing Year class emerges as agents of social change, revealing the recipients of their year-long fundraising, and our high school seniors reflect on their faith formation at UUCSR as they bridge into young adulthood, carrying their Unitarian Universalist Values into the world.

Bridging is a beloved ritual across Unitarian Universalist congregations, a sacred tradition of blessing and belonging, of affirming faith and committing to one another in covenantal community, and of gratitude for like-hearted people of all ages journeying together toward a just and joyful world. The Service features spirited music from the Young Peoples' Choir and the UUCSR Jazz Ensemble, a few surprises, and recognition of our longtime RE teaching volunteers.

Today also brings the long-awaited return of PASS THE PLATE. During the offertory, the Questing Year class will be in the aisles collecting donations for their Secret Social Action Project, so please bring cash or checks. Online giving will be available as well.

Sunday, we celebrate the milestones of our young people as the fifth and sixth-grade Questing Year class emerges as agents of social change when they reveal the recipients of their year-long fundraising, and the high school seniors reflect on their faith formation at UUCSR as they prepare to bridge into young adulthood and bring their Unitarian Universalist values out into the world.

Bridging is a beloved ritual across Unitarian Universalist congregations—a sacred tradition of blessing and belonging, affirmation of faith and commitment to one another in covenantal community, and gratitude for like-hearted people of all ages journeying together to create a just and joyful world.

This service features spirited music from the Young Peoples' Choir and the UUCSR Jazz Ensemble, plus a few surprises, and we honor the milestones of our long-time RE teaching volunteers.

For today's special offering, we will see the long-awaited return of PASS THE PLATE! The Questing Year class will be in the aisles collecting donations for their (no longer) Secret Social Action Project during the offertory, so please remember to bring cash or checks to contribute to their worthy causes. The online methods of giving will be available as well.

Following worship, all are invited to the fabulous and FREE RE Bridging End-of-Year Picnic Celebration, courtesy of the Religious Education Committee.

Some of our young people are getting ready to bridge. Bridging is the moment a whole congregation gathers to bless its youth as they cross from one chapter of life into the next, and it is one of the tenderest rituals we share.

Join us on Sunday, June 14 for the annual Bridging Ceremony: Grateful for it All. We will share worship and music, with a free picnic afterward. All are welcome, whether you have been with us for years or are walking through our doors for the first time.
11:00 AM at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock.

Unitarian Universalism calls us to honor the worth and gifts of every person. Mother Teresa knew this truth too. None of us flourishes alone. All of us flourish together.

This Sunday, we gather for our Flower Ceremony, one of the most beloved rituals in our Unitarian Universalist tradition. First offered by Unitarian Minister, Rev. Norbert Capek in 1923, it celebrates a simple and radical truth: that each of us is a unique and irreplaceable beauty, and that we are lovelier together than apart. Together, we will consider how beauty endures even through tender seasons, and how, still, the flowers bloom.

Flowers brought to add to our shared bouquet, any flower of any color or kind will be gathered into baskets, and each of us will carry home a bloom that was brought by another.

This service features a multigenerational beginning. We are delighted that the children and youth will join us for this special ceremony. During the Service, we will also recognize two student recipients of the Edward R. Miller Memorial Scholarship, who will share their gifts in music with us.

This month we ask: how are you helping someone else rise? Because we are in this work of life together, and it is together that we will flourish and thrive.
