Missioner Musings:

As the Church, we must take responsibility and accountability in the ways we have oppressed and ostracized our LGBQIA+ Siblings.

We must confess and repent in how we have tuned our interpretation of the Scripture to oppression and hate instead of liberation and love!

We here at Christ Church Cathedral open and affirm, include, and celebrate the gifts of who are LGBTQIA+ siblings are not only at the Cathedral but also in the Community.

Christ Church Cathedral along with Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky will have a booth at Pride on June 20th and if you would like to sign up to volunteer:

Missioner Musings: A Meditation for Pentecost

Without the Holy Spirit, God is far away,
Christ stays in the past,
the Gospel is a dead letter,
the Church is simply an organisation,
authority a matter of domination,
mission a matter of propaganda,
the liturgy no more than an
evocation, Christian living a
slave morality.

But in the Holy Spirit:
the cosmos is resurrected
and groans with the birth-pangs
of the Kingdom, the risen Christ
is there, the Gospel is the power
of life, the Church shows forth
life of the Trinity, authority is
a liberating service, mission
is a Pentecost, the liturgy is
both memorial and anticipation,
human action is deified.

Patriarch Ignatius IV of Antioch (who served as the Metropolitan of Latakia at the time) delivered at the World Council of Churches assembly in Uppsala in 1968.
