Marriage is a mirror. 🪞🔥

God didn’t just institute marriage in Genesis 2 to give us companionship—He created it to be a earthly picture of a heavenly reality.

Jesus is the Bridegroom, and the Church (not the building, but you and me) is His Bride. Every covenant, every promise, and every reflection of sacrificial love here on Earth points to an eternal truth: one day soon, when we are reunited with Him in heaven, there will be the ultimate wedding—the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7).

Your marriage isn't just about today; it's reflecting the glorious future God has prepared for His people.

Love alone won’t keep a marriage together when life gets hard. 🛑

It’s easy to say “our love will carry us through” during the honeymoon phase—but what happens when the feeling fades? What happens when frustration sets in and that initial spark starts wavering? That’s the moment you begin questioning if “happily ever after” is even possible.

Here’s the truth: human love fluctuates. It isn’t designed to be the sole anchor of a thriving marriage.

When your love feels like it’s running on empty, the Lord steps in and asks a deeper question. Not "How do you feel today?" but "Will you honor My calling for your relationship?"

God calls us to follow His plan—not world culture, not a quick search engine query, and not what AI suggests.

In Colossians 3:18, God gives clear guidance to wives: "Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord."

A strong, enduring marriage isn't built on temporary feelings—it’s built on daily obedience, selfless grace, and a mutual willingness to align with God's design even when it isn't easy.

Myth busted: Marriage isn’t 50/50. 🛑💍

If you go into marriage expecting an equal 50/50 split every single day, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Real life doesn't work like that.

Some days, marriage is 100 to NOTHING.

There will be seasons where your spouse has nothing left in the tank, and you have to carry 100% of the load. And there will be times when you’re the one who needs to be carried.

Cultural noise tells us that biblical roles and selfless commitment are "outdated," but real love isn't about keeping score—it's about stepping up completely when the other person can't.

Tie the knot and whine? 💍 Why is it that so many people fight to get married, only to spend the rest of their lives complaining about it?

We all want a happy marriage, so what changes? Why does the honeymoon phase fade so fast? Why does it feel like the person you married suddenly transformed into someone else—someone far less forgiving and tolerant than the person you dated?

Here’s the hard truth: People do change over time, but most of the traits driving you crazy right now were there from day one.

When you were dating, you didn’t miss the red flags—you chose to ignore them because you were in love and didn’t want to confront the discomfort. Looking the other way was easier than having the hard conversation.

A thriving marriage isn’t about waiting for your spouse to fix the things you ignored—it’s about taking ownership, facing reality, and choosing grace and honest communication today.

God created marriage in Genesis 2, but He gave us the toolkit in the New Testament. 💡✨

God created marriage all the way back in Genesis 2, but if you look through the Old Testament, you won't find a detailed playbook on how to make a marriage truly thrive day-to-day.

God didn't leave us hanging, though! In the New Testament, He gives us practical, powerful guidelines to build a healthy, flourishing marriage—one area is in Colossians 3.

Side by side, close to the heart. ❤️‍🔥

God didn’t make woman from man’s head to rule over him, nor from his foot to be walked on. He took a rib from his side—under his arm to be protected, and close to his heart to be loved.

In Genesis 2, God designed marriage as a holy union where two become one and cleave together—joined, adhered, and inseparable.

When you align your marriage with God’s design in Genesis 2 and walk out the instructions in Colossians 3, your relationship moves from surviving to thriving.

It’s easy to talk about kindness, patience, and humility—until you step out onto the 405 or interact with the people around you in LA. 🚗💨

Let’s be honest: genuine compassion and gentleness aren't what our culture promotes. But before we point fingers at the world, we have to look in the mirror—and inside our own homes.

Why is it that the people we love most are often the ones we’re shortest with? Why do we find it so easy to extend grace to strangers, yet bring judgment to our own spouses and families?

That’s the reality of the human flesh. Left to ourselves, our nature is selfish, critical, and rotten at its core.

That is exactly why Jesus calls us to strip off the old way of living and "put on" compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12–13).

God’s gifts aren't meant just for Sunday morning or public display—they are designed to be practiced at home, where it matters most.

Compassion isn’t just an emotion—it’s an assignment. ⚡️

In Colossians 3:12, Paul writes: "Put on a heart of compassion."

God isn’t asking us to do anything He hasn’t already done for us. He’s calling us to step out of our comfort zones and do for others what He has continuously done in our lives:
▪️ Come alongside people when they feel isolated.
▪️ Be present in their suffering instead of looking away.
▪️ Feel their pain and extend a helping hand.

That’s the true beauty of being part of the Church. You were never meant to carry life’s heavy burdens alone, and neither were the people around you. Today, look around—who can you stand with?

How in the world could God have such high regard and affection for you? 💭✨

Colossians 3:12 reminds us that as believers, we are "chosen, holy, and dearly loved." But that love isn't something we earned—it’s agape love. Unconditional.

God didn't look at our qualifications before deciding to love us. By His own free will, He chose to set His affection on you and me. That means once you enter into a relationship with Him, His love remains steadfast—loved in spite of our flaws, mistakes, and shortcomings.

None of us deserved it, but God accepts us anyway, warts and all. 🙌❤️

Are you chosen by God? 🤔

It’s not reserved for a select few elites or random people in the crowd. According to John 1:12, to as many as received Him, He gave the right to become children of God—to those who believe in His name!

When you make the choice to turn from sin, repent, and put your faith in Jesus Christ, God calls you His son. He calls you His daughter. You are chosen because you chose Him!

And because you are chosen, Colossians 3:12-13 reminds us how to live: clothed in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience—forgiving one another just as the Lord forgiven us.
