Myth busted: Marriage isn’t 50/50. 🛑💍

If you go into marriage expecting an equal 50/50 split every single day, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Real life doesn't work like that.

Some days, marriage is 100 to NOTHING.

There will be seasons where your spouse has nothing left in the tank, and you have to carry 100% of the load. And there will be times when you’re the one who needs to be carried.

Cultural noise tells us that biblical roles and selfless commitment are "outdated," but real love isn't about keeping score—it's about stepping up completely when the other person can't.

Tie the knot and whine? 💍 Why is it that so many people fight to get married, only to spend the rest of their lives complaining about it?

We all want a happy marriage, so what changes? Why does the honeymoon phase fade so fast? Why does it feel like the person you married suddenly transformed into someone else—someone far less forgiving and tolerant than the person you dated?

Here’s the hard truth: People do change over time, but most of the traits driving you crazy right now were there from day one.

When you were dating, you didn’t miss the red flags—you chose to ignore them because you were in love and didn’t want to confront the discomfort. Looking the other way was easier than having the hard conversation.

A thriving marriage isn’t about waiting for your spouse to fix the things you ignored—it’s about taking ownership, facing reality, and choosing grace and honest communication today.

God created marriage in Genesis 2, but He gave us the toolkit in the New Testament. 💡✨

God created marriage all the way back in Genesis 2, but if you look through the Old Testament, you won't find a detailed playbook on how to make a marriage truly thrive day-to-day.

God didn't leave us hanging, though! In the New Testament, He gives us practical, powerful guidelines to build a healthy, flourishing marriage—one area is in Colossians 3.

It’s easy to talk about kindness, patience, and humility—until you step out onto the 405 or interact with the people around you in LA. 🚗💨

Let’s be honest: genuine compassion and gentleness aren't what our culture promotes. But before we point fingers at the world, we have to look in the mirror—and inside our own homes.

Why is it that the people we love most are often the ones we’re shortest with? Why do we find it so easy to extend grace to strangers, yet bring judgment to our own spouses and families?

That’s the reality of the human flesh. Left to ourselves, our nature is selfish, critical, and rotten at its core.

That is exactly why Jesus calls us to strip off the old way of living and "put on" compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12–13).

God’s gifts aren't meant just for Sunday morning or public display—they are designed to be practiced at home, where it matters most.

How in the world could God have such high regard and affection for you? 💭✨

Colossians 3:12 reminds us that as believers, we are "chosen, holy, and dearly loved." But that love isn't something we earned—it’s agape love. Unconditional.

God didn't look at our qualifications before deciding to love us. By His own free will, He chose to set His affection on you and me. That means once you enter into a relationship with Him, His love remains steadfast—loved in spite of our flaws, mistakes, and shortcomings.

None of us deserved it, but God accepts us anyway, warts and all. 🙌❤️

Are you chosen by God? 🤔

It’s not reserved for a select few elites or random people in the crowd. According to John 1:12, to as many as received Him, He gave the right to become children of God—to those who believe in His name!

When you make the choice to turn from sin, repent, and put your faith in Jesus Christ, God calls you His son. He calls you His daughter. You are chosen because you chose Him!

And because you are chosen, Colossians 3:12-13 reminds us how to live: clothed in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience—forgiving one another just as the Lord forgiven us.

Stop chasing what you were saved from. 🛑

Before Christ, we spent our lives pursuing the things of this world. But Colossians 3:2 gives us a clear command: "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."

When you surrender your life to Jesus, your focus shifts. You are no longer meant to go after the old patterns, worldly desires, or past habits. Now, you have the privilege to seek the things of God—His blessings, His presence, and His perfect will for your life.

Why is this mindset shift so crucial?

Because the enemy knows the power of your focus. The devil doesn't want you seeking the Lord to find His hope, no matter how heavy or painful your current circumstances are. He doesn't want you to experience God’s unconditional love, to walk in divine deliverance, or to rest in the power of forgiveness.

Instead, the enemy wants to keep dumping guilt and shame onto your shoulders—keeping you trapped in condemnation so you end up hating your life and hating others.

Don't buy into the enemy's lie. You are forgiven, set free, and called higher. Lift your eyes, fix your mind on heavenly things, and step into the freedom God has already prepared for you.

Baptism doesn’t save you—and it doesn’t make you any more saved than the moment you surrendered your life to Christ. 🚫🌊

While God commands us to be baptized as an act of obedience, salvation isn't found in the water; it's found in Jesus.

The word baptism literally means to be submerged. It serves as a visual representation of a spiritual reality that has already occurred:
➡️ Going under the water symbolizes dying and being buried with Christ.
➡️ Coming up out of the water symbolizes rising to new life in Him.

When you give your life to Jesus, regeneration happens instantly. You are born again, crucified with Christ, and made alive in His grace. Baptism simply shows the world the transformation God already did inside your heart.

📖 Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Stop lying to yourself. 🛑

We justify our “little” white lies, taking office supplies from work, and toxic gossip because “at least we’re not as bad as them.” We judge the thief and condemn the pr******te, yet excuse our own disobedience like it’s no big deal.

Here’s the cold truth: God doesn’t operate on your sliding scale.

To God, sin isn’t a matter of comparison—it’s disobedience, and ALL sin separates us from Him.

Titus 3:3 calls out every single one of us:
“At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.”

Before grace, we all stood in the exact same spot: broken, guilty, and in need of mercy. Stop measuring your morality against other people and start looking at the cross.

Why didn’t God just program us to love Him? 🤖

He could have created us like robots—forcing us to raise our hands in unison every Sunday and go through the motions of worship. But forced obedience isn't true love. God gave each of us free will.

Free choice is great when you're deciding between a burrito or a bacon double cheeseburger 🌯🍔—but God gave us free will for a much higher purpose: so we could genuinely choose Him.

The weight of that choice is real. Choosing our own path leads to sin and falling short of His standard. As Galatians 3:10 reminds us, relying on the law or our own performance only highlights our failure. We can’t fix it on our own.

God knew the cost of giving us free will, and He provided the ultimate answer. In Colossians 2:13–14, Paul writes that when we were dead in our trespasses, God made us alive together with Christ, forgiving us all our sins by canceling the record of debt and nailing it to the cross. ✝️

Free will gives us the choice to turn away, but His grace gives us the reason to choose Him back.
