🌟 May Partner Highlight — Care Portal, Olive Crest, and We Foster LA 🌟

In May, we are highlighting three of our partners who engage in our church’s call to care for the orphan, specifically through foster care: CarePortal, Olive Crest, and We Foster LA.

Care Portal —
CarePortal exists to bridge the gap between local churches and children and families in crisis. They equip churches to be the hands and feet of Jesus by providing real-time opportunities to serve vulnerable children and families in their own communities. You can pray for the families and children they serve to feel God's abundant love in their lives, as well as for the churches across LA to continue stepping into this work with boldness and compassion.

Olive Crest —
Olive Crest is dedicated to preventing child abuse by strengthening, equipping, and restoring children and families in crisis one life at a time. They are fervent in their commitment to seeing lives transformed through the healing power of God, family, and community.
Reality LA can continue to be a part of their work by financially supporting Olive Crest on a monthly basis, participating in other special events or seasons, or seeking to become a foster parent. There is such a need in Los Angeles for families to welcome children into their homes or support those doing so.

We Foster LA —
We Foster Los Angeles is a non-profit serving foster children and the families who love them.
They serve children in the Los Angeles County Foster Care System by providing clothing and hygiene supplies to emergency placements. Additionally, they also walk alongside pregnant teens and their caregivers to provide necessary supplies through hosted or drop-off baby showers. They provide mothers with a year’s worth of baby clothing, tons of diapers, nursing and formula support. How to pray? They are looking to grow and expand their ministry—it’d be great if you pray that God will open doors, provide clarity, and provide funding!

If you want to learn more about any of these 3 partners and don't know where to start, send us a dm!

This week, Shannon and Phil drop in to chat about dating as followers of Jesus. We dig into the role of community and wise counsel in healthy dating, allowing time for the relationship to develop, navigating boundaries and expectations, and even breaking up well (especially within the church).

Last Sunday was Regional Connect, where we fellowshipped with people in our regions and enjoyed delicious Spam Musubi.

Reality LA has been in the heart of Hollywood, worshipping God and studying his word for 20 years now! Isn’t that wild!? Starting in the Michael Jackson Auditorium at Gardner Elementary, to Le Conte Middle School, and now meeting at Helen Bernstein High School and the Hope Center, we have seen God’s movement so much in the past 2 decades.

So join us to celebrate! Because our church’s story is one of God’s abundant grace and faithfulness, we will spend time remembering what God has done, worshipping God for what he is doing, and praying for what God will do next.

There will be an hour of refreshments and fellowship starting at 6PM.
At 7PM we will then move into the auditorium for worship and a panel that includes Reality LA founding pastor, Tim Chaddick.

Share this post with friends—past and present members of Reality LA! We want to see you all! Can anyone say reunion?? 😃

To help us plan accordingly, please RSVP so we can get a rough estimate on how much food to order.

This is something we join in on each year and is a treasure for all involved. If you’d like to volunteer or learn more, 🔗 reality.la/hopecentralwatts. Please sign up to volunteer by May 24.

(If you plan to come to our 20-year Church Anniversary Celebration, also on May 29, let us know and we will have you serve at this event only in the afternoon!)
