Heart of Longmont

Heart of Longmont You have a place at The Heart of Longmont. Join us for worship on Sundays @ 10:00 AM!

The Heart of Longmont welcomes every person and recognizes each as a unique and sacred child of God, regardless of age, race, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. Our Mission:
To make followers of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our Vision:
Serve as the Heart of Longmont by helping all persons find deeper meaning and God’s purpose for their life as committed

Christ-followers. Serving as the Heart of Longmont means:
• That as committed Christ-followers we will integrate God’s priorities and plan for all of humanity into our everyday living, seeking to do God’s will in all things as best we understand it;
• We will help others connect to Jesus Christ by embracing Christ’s teachings and examples of selfless service as a model for living so that our example might kindle a hunger in others to know God better;
• We will join together in worship and sharing the Sacraments with all persons;
• We will welcome all persons, without reservation or judgment, just as Jesus Christ would do;
• We will work tirelessly by entering into intentional acts of compassion and social justice to make our community a place where God’s love is known by all, where poverty and deprivation are unknown by any, and where respect for the worth and dignity of each person is the norm. Our beliefs and understanding of mission mean we will:
• Keep our focus on Jesus Christ as revealed in God’s Inspired word, the Bible;
• Embrace prayer, seeking the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit;
• Respect and honor other religious traditions, while choosing Christ as our way of knowing God best;
• Emphasize life-long learning so that we may engage our world from a dynamic and creative perspective;
• Work to protect and preserve God’s creation;
• Practice stewardship of all aspects of our lives – including time, talent, financial resources, and spiritual gifts.

What an incredible day at Longmont Pride! 🌈✨ Our Heart of Longmont UMC booth was filled with grace, joy, laughter, glitter, and holy welcome from beginning to end. We are so grateful for everyone who helped make this day such a beautiful reflection of God's love.

A huge thank you to Becca Marsing for baking the most beautiful rainbow challah communion bread, to Megan Orsburn and Amy Mann for their leadership, vision, and countless hours of work helping make Pride happen. We are also deeply grateful to all of our HOL volunteers who showed up, served with joy, and endured the 95-degree heat to share God's glitter and grace with the Longmont community. Throughout the day, we shared rainbow communion bread, offered glitter blessings, hosted a rock decorating station for kids and adults alike, and handed out information about HOL…including the absolutely amazing stickers designed by our very own HOL Haleigh Bird. Thank you, Haleigh!!

More than anything, we had the opportunity to remind people that God's table is for everyone. God's love and grace is for everyone. And God's grace shines in every color of the rainbow.

To everyone we encountered today: remember your belovedness. Remember that God delights in you. Remember that you are queerfully and wonderfully made, beautifully created, and deeply loved just as you are. 🏳️‍🌈❤️🥰✨🥳🪩🏳️‍⚧️
