ChristAid continues to grow!

In 2018, ChristAid Preschool opened its doors to give children ages 3–5 a strong educational foundation in a loving, Christ-centered environment. Today, 150 young children are learning and thriving there.

Then in 2022, ChristAid Secondary School opened — creating opportunities for students to continue their education close to home instead of being sent away to boarding schools. The school now serves 450 students and includes both day school and boarding options, along with teacher housing to attract outstanding Christian educators.

From classes under a tree to a thriving preschool, primary school, and secondary school campus — God has been faithful every step of the way. 🙌

Because many families in Kicuna could not afford school fees, ChristAid created the Ahadi Kids sponsorship program to connect children in Uganda with sponsors in the United States.

Today, nearly 200 Ahadi Kids — from preschoolers to university students — are sponsored through this program.

Even more exciting? Hundreds of former Ahadi Kids have already graduated from secondary school, universities, and vocational programs. They are now serving as leaders in their communities, breaking cycles of poverty, and building brighter futures for the next generation. This includes two of our Ugandan staff members!

One sponsorship doesn’t just change a child’s life. It changes families, communities, and generations. 🌍❤️

ChristAid Academy started with just a teacher, a handful of students, and classes held under a tree in Kicuna, Uganda.

Today, more than 550 children attend ChristAid Primary School, where they have classrooms for every grade level, play areas, bathroom facilities, and even a banana plantation that helps support the school.

What began as a simple vision in 1995 — to provide education for children who otherwise faced a dangerous 10-mile walk to school — has grown into something life-changing for an entire community.

God continues to multiply what is placed in His hands. ❤️

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free. Because of their courage, generations have been blessed with the opportunity to live, worship, serve, and dream in freedom.

As we gather with family and friends today, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude for those who gave everything for others they would never meet.

We remember.
We honor.
We are thankful.

This week, we added 43 new child sponsorship profiles to the ChristAid website. As I read through each story while formatting and uploading them, my heart was overwhelmed. So many children with difficult circumstances, heartbreaking losses, and deep needs — yet each one precious, loved by God, and full of potential.

At first, I wished I could sponsor them all myself.

But then God reminded me of something powerful: I don’t have to carry this burden alone. I get the privilege of sharing these children with the Body of Christ and trusting Him to connect the right children with the right sponsors.

And He wasted no time.

Before we had sent a single email, posted on social media, or announced the new profiles in any way, a donor visited the site and sponsored FOUR of the new children for an entire year — committing to renew annually. Rose, Destiny, Patrick, and Chris were chosen within minutes of their profiles going live.

The donor, Mike K., hadn’t given to ChristAid for a few years. Yet God led him and his wife, Joy, back at exactly the right moment.

As we talked on the phone later, Mike shared memories of traveling to Uganda in 2008, helping level the soccer field below the Primary School with rented Caterpillar equipment. They called it “Gold Medal Field.” Years later, God is still using their family to impact lives in Uganda.

Moments like this are such a beautiful reminder: God knows every child by name. He knows exactly who they need. And He faithfully moves hearts at just the right time.

A sponsor's story:
We have been sponsoring Monica Katusabe since she was a little girl. We met her when she was 7 years old after she had lost her first sponsor.

Her days at the ChristAid school were great for her as she learned about God’s love, became very proficient at speaking English, and got very good grades! She recently finished her university-level classes and is actively searching for a job in her chosen field of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Our relationship with her has been fun and rewarding! We are praying for her to secure a job in a hospital or with the Ugandan government, who did give her an internship in her field, working to assist refugees coming into Uganda.

A spnsor's story:

The following year, our church raised funds to build a Grandma for Jesus home in Kicuna. Art and I joined a mission trip to Uganda to help construct Grandma Florence’s new home. It was also a joyful reunion with many of the choir youth. We helped pour concrete floors and put on the roof. During that trip, Abraham and his cousin Daniel joined the Shelters crew and our mission team. They were two of the boys who had slept on our floor just months before.

We were honored to sponsor both boys through their remaining years of primary school and later through secondary school in Kampala before the ChristAid Secondary School was completed. Additional mission trips gave us more opportunities to spend time with our “African sons,” grow to love their families, and deepen our connection with ChristAid.

Both young men continued their education and earned advanced certificates. Abraham learned construction skills, while Daniel earned a certificate in computer programming. Today, both are successfully employed using the skills they gained through ChristAid and technical training.

Last year, I returned to Kicuna as a ChristAid Board member and reunited with Abraham, his wife, and their daughter, Aria Marcee. Daniel is currently working as a security programmer in the UAE and hopes to return home in two years to reunite with his wife in western Uganda.

We stay in regular contact with both families, and our prayers include another visit soon. Watching their growth and success has been one of the greatest blessings in our lives. We are deeply grateful to ChristAid.
