Rîsen Church

Rîsen Church The Bible says that everything is made beautiful in God's time. In God's eyes all who are in His Son are made beautiful simply as they are.

As a minister here at Risen I have a desire to see this verse of scripture fulfilled to the utmost in as many people as possible. Jesus Christ created and desires to dwell in every moment of our lives, and my prayer is that He would inhabit the hearts of all of the members and visitors of this church. It is my prayer that everyone have and live in a dynamic, and personal relationship with Jesus Ch

rist. He has set eternity in every human's heart, a longing so strong that nothing but God Himself could satisfy. We are all wired to realize this need for something or someone to always love, to always hope in, to always believe in, besides ourselves. In Christ we are promised acceptance and assurance, free from guilt and condemnation. He loves us, and came to this earth to take care of our two biggest problems: sin and death. At Calvary our sins were forgiven and atoned for, and three days later death was defeated as Jesus rose from His grave, with a never-closing invitation. An invitation to all of humanity to trust in Christ and receive redemption and adoption into the family of God. It is my vision to create an environment attractive to both churched and unchurched people, with one goal primary of having a growing relationship with Christ. Together, we here at Risen Church can seek after this vision and become a light shining into the darkness of our community and even the world, that we may show everyone that trusting in Christ is the only hope we have in this life! In the love of Christ,
Justin Houser

Acts 1:1-11 gives us the promise of Pentecost and foreshadows all of the incredible moments ahead for the church. It's tempting to move right into chapter 2 to see the Holy Spirit fall and His flame begin to spread, but the interstitial passage offers us tremendous insight and convictions. To overlook Acts `1:12-26 would mean skipping over an account that emphasizes the love and passion the early church had for Jesus.

In this message, we discuss this essential preparatory passage that sets the stage for Acts 2. Make no mistake, there would be no Acts 2 without the simple acts of obedience and faithfulness that preceded it. Acts 2 power only comes on the back of Acts 1 preparation.

Listen as we discuss the importance of each step of preparation and how we might follow in the early church's footsteps.

In this message, Haggai confronts and challenges us in our priorities and reflects back at us the futility of putting anyone and anything above or alongside God's place in our lives.
