Wednesday Bible Study – The Book of Acts

Join us as we start back up on Wednesday, September 9 at 1:00 PM

This past Sunday we wrapped up our Home Stretch Testimonies hearing from our pastor, Rev. Brandon McGinnis. Brandon shared about his experience of pastoring the Andover Community and the hope he has for our church as we work toward a debt free future.

This past Sunday, each of our worshipping communities recognized persons as "First Saints"--community members who have a track record of going above and beyond and who truly exemplify Christ.

Andover's first class of First Saints included Ray & Betty Hornback and Brad Rudolph!

In addition to recognizing them in worship on Sunday morning, we also joined together with the Downtown and Offerings communities for an evening honoring First Saints from each community.

We are so thankful for the faithfulness and years of service that Ray, Betty, and Brad have offered!

What’s a book that has stayed with you? Maybe it shaped your faith, changed the way you think, helped you through a particular season, or was simply a book you loved and wish everyone else could read, too.

The UK Wesley is building a library filled with books that students can discover, enjoy, wrestle with, and be formed by; especially books on spiritual formation, theology, biblical studies, and the Christian life, along with poetry and fiction that explores Christian themes.

If there’s a book you’ve loved and think a college student might enjoy or benefit from, you're invited to give a copy to the Wesley. And, if you’d like, tuck a note inside telling a student why the book matters to you.

As we continue to move toward our Home Stretch Campaign, we heard from 3 of our Andover youth about their experience of growing up in this community and the impact it has had on their lives. Each, in their own words, spoke of a community that has supported and loved them, helped them to grow in their faith, and given them a place to belong. That's the testimony we long for everyone in our community to be able to offer!

As we begin our Home Stretch Campaign to eliminate our remaining building debt, we are hearing from different Andover Community members throughout August. This past Sunday, Brad and Kathy reflected on the ministry that has been made possible because of our physical space and challenged us to continue to dream about future ministry opportunities.

On Sunday, August 9, during worship, we will celebrate our Blessing of the Backpacks. Students, teachers, and school staff are invited to bring their backpacks, bags, or briefcases to receive a special blessing and a small gift as a reminder that God goes with them wherever they go throughout the school year.
