Sermon: "Expect the Unexpected"
Acts 2:1-13; John 14:15-17

"Holy Spirit" in Greek: pneuma means Spirit, wind, breath

Acts 1:4b ...Jesus said to the disciples to wait for the 'gift' that the Father promised.

To wait-to pause: to self reflect.

The gospel is for everyone, and God will go to great lengths to make His Word known in languages and formats.

Promise...empowered to go.
Pause...preparation
Power...love/serving others
Witness...testify/sacrificial living

God reveals Himself to us in many ways. Whats God saying to you today? How has the Holy Spirit changed you?

Expect the Unexpected thing God will do to you!

John 15:1-17

If we stay connected with Jesus, we will bear much fruits. When we have the connection with God, He heals our hearts. Because He heals our hearts, we can bear fruits. (V.5)

"Being before Doing"
▪︎ Decide to abide
▪︎ Practice self awareness
▪︎ Discover and embrace silence
▪︎ Meet with Jesus in the margin

V.16-17 we didnt choose Him, but He chose us so that we might bear fruits.

Make time to connect to the Vine and your life will bear fruit.

Sermon series: "The Wors Brings Life"
Message: "I AM the Good Shepherd"
John 10:1-16; Psalm 23

Jesus is the Good Shepherd, a gate for the sheep. John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."

V.14 "I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me"
Do we know our Shepherd? Do we have a good listening ears and know His voice?

V.16 "I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."
God has been the Good Shepherd since the beginning. He calls us into community to be one.

From the beginning of our lives to the end of it:
Learn from Jesus, imitate Jesus, hear and follow Him.

ALL Church Retreat at Woodcrest Retreat Center, 225 Woodcrest Dr, Ephrata, PA 17522. We will be meeting at the Indian Rock Center.

Coffee and snacks will be served beginning at 9 AM. The service begins at 9:30 AM and has two sessions.

Our special guest speaker is Elva Hurst, a local chalk artist. Her artistic presentation is engaging for all ages, and no separate childcare will be provided. Quiet activities will be available in the back of the room for the youngest children, if needed.

Sermon: "I AM the Light of the Word"
John 8:12, 9:5; Psalm 27:1

John 8:12 "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life."

"Light of the World" identifies Jesus as the Messiah and God.
He also offering a declaration to follow Him (Mark 1:17), to receive freedom from the wilderness, slavery and darkness.

The closer we walk with Jesus, the more we understand Him. When we follow the light of Jesus, we will walk in the right path of truth.

Light challenges us to reexamine ourselves and change.
Light redirects our perspective to see
Light helps us to reimagine a new and bright future.

John 6: 25-59

V.35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

There's always time that we are longing or hungrying for something in this world. Jesus is the Bread of Life and He is the One who will fulfill whatever we are hungry for.

• We hunger for food...Jesus provides for us with compassion and grace.
• We thirst for peace and solitude...Jesus calms our fears with His presence.
• We hunger for answers to our most pressing questions...Jesus asks us to belive in him! (Adhere to trusting Him, rely on Him, have faith in Him)
• We thirst for what's comfortable and easy...Jesus warns us that suffering will be part of following, He calls us to come home)
• We hunger for fulfilled lives...Jesus shared His Holy Spirit with us.
