Are you trusting in a relationship with Christ—or a spiritual resume?

In Philippians 3:1-11, Paul reminds us that no amount of religious achievements, good works, or personal accomplishments can make us right with God. Everything he once counted as gain, he considered loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Christ.

Salvation isn’t about what we’ve done for God—it’s about what Christ has done for us. When we stop trusting in ourselves and place our faith in Him, we discover that Jesus is more than enough.

“Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” — Philippians 3:8

What a Friend | Philippians 2:19-30

True joy is often found in the people God places in our lives.

This Sunday, we looked at the examples of Timothy and Epaphroditus and learned that if we want to grow in faithfulness, we need to cultivate faithful friendships.

🔹 Become more caring for others
🔹 Strive to be like Christ
🔹 Build strong relationships with fellow believers
🔹 Develop a partnership mentality in ministry
🔹 Pursue biblical community
🔹 Face life’s challenges joyfully
🔹 Devote yourself completely to the Lord

How do we apply these truths?

✔️ Trust Christ as your Savior
✔️ Learn and value the people around you
✔️ Choose your friends wisely
✔️ Surrender to and serve the Savior with all you have

Choose Joy: Joy Through Total Commitment
📖 Philippians 2:12-18

True joy isn’t found in easy circumstances—it’s found in a life fully surrendered to Jesus Christ.

Paul challenges believers to work out what God has worked in. Because God is at work in us, we are called to:
✅ Live out our faith
✅ Let go of complaining and arguing
✅ Shine as lights in a dark world
✅ Hold firmly to God’s Word
✅ Lay down our lives in service to Christ
✅ Rejoice in every circumstance

When we stop grumbling and start trusting, when we serve instead of seeking ourselves, and when we live for God’s glory instead of our own comfort, the joy of Christ shines through us.

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing… among whom you shine as lights in the world.” — Philippians 2:14-15

✨ “The Name Above Every Name” ✨
Today at Son Light Bible Church, we continued our Choose Joy: A Study of Philippians series by looking at Philippians 2:5-11 and the incredible humility and exaltation of Jesus Christ.

Jesus willingly stepped down from His majestic position, gave up His glory, honor, and riches, became the perfect sacrifice and mediator for people, and was ultimately exalted by God as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

📖 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” — Philippians 2:10-11

No name compares to the name of Jesus.
No one else could save.
No one else deserves our worship.
