"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation." — Psalm 95:1-2 (NIV)

As we lead towards summer, may this verse remind us to pause and praise the Lord with joyful hearts. He is the Rock of our salvation. Steady, faithful, and worthy of our worship in every season. No matter what lies ahead, we can rejoice knowing He cares for us, provides for us, and walks with us each day.

One of the greatest challenges in personal finance—especially for clergy—is not math, budgeting apps, or investment strategies. It is honesty.

Honesty about where things really stand.
Honesty about debt.
Honesty about stress.
Honesty about the fear that maybe it’s “too late” to change direction.

At the Florida United Methodist Foundation, one of the deepest passions of our work is helping create a space where clergy can have these conversations without shame, embarrassment, or fear of judgment. Financial readiness is not about perfection. It is about courage.

On Monday, April 20, we had the privilege of hosting a one-day retirement workshop for clergy across the Florida Conference who are preparing to step into this next season of life. It was a thoughtful and encouraging day focused on financial readiness, practical planning, and—just as importantly—what a faithful and fulfilling retirement can look like.

We were grateful to welcome partners from Wespath Benefits, CPS Investment Advisors, the Florida Conference, and Compass Mortgage, who each brought valuable insight and guidance to the conversation.

Retirement isn’t an ending; it’s a transition into a new chapter of ministry, purpose, and life. We’re honored to walk alongside these leaders as they prepare for what’s ahead.
