The children at First Light are officially 2 weeks into our school year! This year we welcomed more children as we opened a 2nd infant room and expanded 4K into 2 classrooms. We also welcomed new teachers into our wonderful staff! We are so excited for all these wonderful blessing at First Light.

First Lutheran's Sunday School kicks off for the year next week Sunday, Sept. 13!

Please join us to learn more, register, see the building, meet some of our SS teachers, and have a bunch of fun in the process!!

Our Sunday School program serves children birth through 6th grade, and is open to everyone, free of charge. There is no pressure to attend each week. We will be happy to serve you whenever you are able to join us!

More details will be available at our registration table on Sept. 13!

On Wednesday, September 2, we had our first Youth Night of the new school year, and what a night it was! Over fifty of our First Lutheran students showed up for a night of fun, faith, and fellowship.

Pastor and Mrs. Sachs' Farewell - Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026

Please join us for his farewell service at 9:00am and a reception to follow in the church social room.

Since August of 1974, Pastor and Mrs. Sachs have been a quiet, steady constant at First Lutheran, serving with a rare and beautiful devotion. For 52 years, they have poured their lives into ours, comforting through grief, rejoicing in our celebrations, and
gently encouraging us with God’s Word. Their time here has been a living example of faith, as generations have found comfort, wisdom, and Christ's love.

As Pastor and Mrs. Sachs prepare to step into full retirement, our hearts are filled with a profound gratitude. “We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope
in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:3, NIV

Thank you, Pastor and Mrs. Sachs, for giving so much of yourselves to us for over half a century. You leave behind a legacy woven deep into the heart and history of First Lutheran. Our prayers and deepest love go with you into this well-deserved retirement.
