Genesis to Jesus explores the principal covenants that God made with his people through figures such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David. This study also shows how each of these covenants points forward to —and is fulfilled by— Jesus Christ and His Church through salvation history. Each week there are 7 different class opportunities to choose from. Classes will be held at Holy Trinity, Wednesdays 1-2:30pm. You can attend the class that best fits your schedule each week, or this program can be done as a home study. Cost for workbook is $20 and optional books are $3.00. Donate to Venezuela Relief, following the two devastating earthquakes
The death toll in Venezuela has risen to 3300 and is still climbing after the two catastrophic earthquakes on June 24. Entire city blocks have been reduced to rubble. Please donate to the Church’s relief efforts by contributing to this cause through the weekend collection. Make checks payable to Holy Trinity and indicate on the check or envelope: Venezuela Relief. You can visit the diocesan website (diolc.org) for more information.

Genesis to Jesus: 10 week program centering on the promise God made to send a Savior will be offered beginning September 14th and finishing November 20th. A session will be held at Holy Trinity on Wednesdays. More information to come.

Lost Treasure Found! Jeff unearthed an historic banner from the 1800’s that may have been used in the dedication of the church. It is now hanging in Plecity Hall and has been placed in a shadow box that was built and donated by the Kirchner Brothers. Special thanks to Charlie, Leo and Roman Kirchner for their assistance with this project.

August 15th – Feast of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven is not a holy day of obligation this year since it falls on a Saturday. You are welcome to check other parish websites to determine if they will be holding a mass commemorating this.

Repair to Church Bells: We recently contracted with Verdin to repair the church bells so they ring again for the weekday masses and the Angelus (8am, Noon, 6pm). The cost will be approximately $20,000.00. If you would like to donate toward this cost, please notate on your check or envelope. Thank-you.

Materials for display or give away in the back of church: Please consult with Father before placing materials in the back of church so that he can determine it’s suitability for our parishioners.

Mission Co-op: Welcome to Father Thomas of the Pallottines Fathers and Brothers who celebrated mass this weekend. Envelopes were provided for donation to their cause. Make checks payable to Holy Trinity. Please be generous.

Donate to Venezuela Relief, following the two devastating earthquakes: The death toll in Venezuela has risen to 3300 and is still climbing after the two catastrophic earthquakes on June 24. Entire city blocks have been reduced to rubble. Please donate to the Church’s relief efforts by contributing to this cause through the weekend collection. Make checks payable to Holy Trinity and indicate on the check or envelope: Venezuela Relief. You can visit the diocesan website (diolc.org) for more information.

Catholic Charities Food Pantry requests: Plastic, paper and reusable grocery bags, small bottles of liquid dish washing soap, toilet paper, paper towels, hearty soups & peanut butter. Donations can be left at the back of church or dropped off at 508 South 5th Ave in La Crosse Mon-Thurs from 9am-4pm.

A free, informational session on the domestic adoption process through Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse. Join us on August 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for an informational session about the private adoption process. During our time, we will review the domestic adoption process. Following the presentation, time will be dedicated to answering questions from attendees. Participants will receive informational handouts as well as the domestic adoption application. This session will cover Catholic Charities In-State, Interstate, and Independent Adoption Programs. The event will be hosted by Breanna Calko, a Certified Social Worker with Catholic Charities, who will be available to answer questions following the presentation. St. John / St. James All School Reunion (3rd Annual) - A time to reconnect with classmates and share memories! Who: St. John / St. James Alumni, Former Teachers, Parents who sent their children to St. Johns / St. James Date: Saturday, August 15th, 2026 Time: Noon – 4pm Where: Myrick Park Main Shelter What: A light lunch will be available, while it lasts. Bring your own beverages.
Feel free to bring a dish to pass if you wish, but this is optional. Monetary donations accepted.

Mission Co-op: Next weekend, August 1st and 2nd, there will be representatives from the Pallottines Fathers and Brothers International Missionary Religious Order. Currently its members number more than two thousand and together, with lay people, they spread faith in the areas to the poor and underprivileged. Their mission appeal is for the support of mission activities of the Nagpur Province (India). The missionaries of this Province are engaged in the missions of North East India, the areas bordering China, and in Zambia (Africa). The support will go in building up basic Christian communities, chapels and churches, schools and boardings, medical clinics, self-employment projects, promoting vocations and formation houses and creating better living standards for the people. Envelopes will be provided. Make checks payable to Holy Trinity. Please be generous.
