Ministries: We continue to have need for volunteers to fill all our ministry roles. Especially needed are servers for Saturday evening and the Sunday 9:45am masses as well as Lectors for 9:45am. We can always use ushers at all the masses. Training will be provided for all ministries. The computer system we utilize allows for scheduling needed times off and requesting substitutes as well as tailoring schedules based on roles and mass preference time. Jesus’ first words in his public ministry were “Come and See”. Garage Renovation: You may have noticed that there’s work being done on the garage at the end of the property where the convent used to be. This week, Bob Juen and his crew put on a new roof and new garage door. In the future, there will be new siding and a new access door. The funds for this project are being provided by the Men’s Club. Thank you Bob, crew and the Men’s Club!

Thanks to everyone for a successful chicken-que and bake sale. The bake sale sold out and 1040/1200 chicken dinners were sold. The left-overs were donated to the Salvation Army. It was nice to see some new faces working at this event. Many hands make light work and it was a great opportunity to meet new members of the parish.

We offer our sympathy and prayers to family and friends of Kathleen Hefti who passed away May 12th, 2026. Kathleen is survived by her son Paul (Maureen), grandchildren, Noah and Zoe Hammes-Hefti and Rei Bangerter.

Margaret is survived by sons, Bill (Jane) Schaub of Lakeland, MN, Bob (Patti) Schaub of Onalaska, and Peter (Ellen) Schaub of Eagan, MN; daughters, Mary Baldwin of Onalaska, Linda Withington of Chaseburg, Sue Milde, Lori Schaub, and Sandy (Tom) Finn all of La Crosse; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Rudy Clements, Donald Clements, and Dick Clements, and sister Kathy Erickson.

A Mass for the Dead will be celebrated at the altar in the Veterans’ Section of Catholic Cemetery on Losey Blvd on Memorial Day beginning at 11:15am. Msgr Robert Hundt will be the principal celebrant. All are welcome to participate. The Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel will not be open.

Spring Chicken-Q: Holy Trinity Chicken-Q is this Wednesday, May 20th. We need many volunteers to make the event successful. Sign-Up Sheets are in the back of church. Thank-you! Tickets will be available after the masses this weekend. Cost is $12 for 1/2 chicken, homemade coleslaw, beans and a bun. Tell everyone you know about the best Chicken-Q in town!

Correction on drop off time for the Bake Sale May 20th In conjunction with the Chicken Q, the women of St. Anne’s Society hold a bake sale for a fund raiser for their charitable works. All women of the parish are invited to contribute homemade baked goods for this event. You may drop off your items at Leo Hall on Tuesday 5-19 from 3-6pm or Wednesday 5-20 beginning at 7:30am.

Ministry Schedule: The next schedule for ministry roles will be generated on May 18th. This will be for the months of July, August and September. Please update your availability and preferences in Ministry Scheduler so that your roles can be assigned as accurately as possible. Thanks.

Wedding Anniversary Milestone? - The Office for Marriage and Family Life will be sending an invitation to parishioners celebrating 10, 20, 30, 40 ,50, 60 & 70 years of marriage. Data provided by our parish software will be utilized to generate the invitation. Couples will be invited to a special mass. Picture opportunity with Bishop Battersby and a simple reception will follow. If you are going to be celebrating a milestone anniversary in 2026 and want to receive an invitation, please contact the office to ensure that your anniversary date is entered in the parish software.

Ukraine Support: Oresta Felts’ mother has been visiting from Ukraine and wishes to let everyone know how much the financial support being given for school supplies to the children in Ukraine is appreciated. Thank-you!

A Mass for the Dead will be celebrated at the altar in the Veterans’ Section of Catholic Cemetery on Losey Blvd on Memorial Day beginning at 11:15am. Msgr Robert Hundt will be the principal celebrant. All are welcome to participate. The Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel will not be open.

St. John / St. James All School Reunion (3rd Annual) - A time to reconnect with class mates and share memories! Who: St. John / St. James Alumni, Former Teachers, Parents who sent their children to St. Johns / St. James Date: Saturday, August 15th, 2026 Time: Noon – 4pm Where: Myrick Park Main Shelter What: A light lunch will be available, while it lasts. Bring your own beverages.
Feel free to bring a dish to pass if you wish, but this is optional. Monetary donations accepted.

Parish Sympathy to the family of Barbara Reisner who passed away on April 22nd. She is survived by 5 siblings: Jim Lein, Dick Lein, Mary Lein, Kate Lein, and Kris Jackson as well as many nieces and nephews, and friends. Grant her eternal Rest O Lord!!

Spring Chicken-Q: Holy Trinity Chicken-Q is Wednesday, May 20th. We need many volunteers to make the event successful. Sign-Up Sheets are in the back of church. Thank-you! Tickets will be available after the masses this weekend. Cost is $12 for 1/2 chicken, homemade coleslaw, beans and a bun. Tell everyone you know about the best Chicken-Q in town!

Mobile meals of La Crosse: For 55 years, Mobile Meals of La Crosse has been delivering fresh, nutritious meals to area residents, many who are homebound and/or unable to provide for themselves.
