Yesterday at the ELS Synod Convention, Rev. Larry Wentzlaff and his wife Stephanie were recognized for Pastor Wentzlaff’s 25th anniversary in ministry. Pastor Wentzlaff and his wife are both Army Veterans and are past LMSG Directors. Rev. Wentzlaff has served congregations in Arizona and Minnesota and currently serves as the ELS Congregational Counselor. Please join us in congratulating Pastor Wentzlaff and his wife for their service to their Savior!

May the Lord be with our Synod as it meets this week in Convention.

O Lord and heavenly Father, who has united us as members of one body in the work of the Church in our Evangelical Lutheran Synod: Give us grace faithfully and wisely to discharge our duties as in Your sight. Guide us by the Holy Spirit in all our deliberations and bring our minds into accordance with Your perfect will. Keep our vision clear, our sympathies broad, our resolution firm, our zeal unabating. Enable us to elect to the various offices in our church men endowed with the gifts that their service requires; keep us from all misunderstanding, from all dissension, and from every breach of the law of love; and prosper every effort to make Christ known to our many neighbors You place in our lives and grant that whatever we do, in word or deed, we may do all for Your glory, and in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
