When God Says No – Is Jesus Enough
What is the one thing you desire most—the one thing you pray for again and again, the thing you feel you cannot live without?

Now imagine God says no.

What if He doesn’t heal the sickness?

What if the wayward child never comes home?

What if the husband or wife you’ve prayed for never appears—or the baby you’ve longed for never comes?

Would your faith falter?

Would your love for God change?

Would you still follow, trust, and obey?

Jesus asks us to count the cost of discipleship, to love Him more than anyone or anything else. “Anyone who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me” (Matthew 10:37).

He also gave us the greatest commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37).

It’s easy to say we love God most—until He withholds what we long for.

When our love is tested, can we still say, like Job, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him”?

Our obedience in suffering reveals whether our faith is rooted in God Himself or in the gifts we hope He’ll give.

Abraham knew that test when God told him to surrender Isaac—his only son whom he loved, whom he had waited nearly a lifetime for (Genesis 22). Still, Abraham trusted that God was good, even when obedience meant unthinkable loss.

David prayed for his sick child to live, fasting and weeping, but when the answer was no, he rose, worshiped, and continued to serve God (2 Samuel 12:20).

We’ve seen courageous believers like Corrie ten Boom and Elisabeth Elliot live the same truth.

Corrie lost her family in the horror of the Holocaust, yet she forgave those who imprisoned her, trusting in God’s mercy more than her pain.

Elisabeth Elliot returned to minister among the very people who had killed her husband—because she believed Christ’s love was greater than her grief.

Their stories remind us that unwavering faith doesn’t rest on answered prayers—it rests on an unchanging Savior.

Loving God above all else means surrendering not just our desires, but our rights, our timing, and our understanding.

It means believing that even His “no” is an act of perfect love.

True faith worships God for who He is, not for what He gives.

So today, ask yourself honestly:

If God never gave me what I most desire—would Jesus still be enough for me?

73 million babies are killed worldwide every year through abortion—one million in America, and over 30,000 here in Michigan.

In the wake of this tragic loss of life, women and men are left with a gaping wound of guilt, shame, and regret, leading to sadness, grief, and confusion. If left unresolved these feelings may lead to mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

Post-abortion healing is essential for addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual effects of abortion, aiding individuals in healing and reconciling with the Lord.

Healing ministries, such as Bible studies and retreats, offer a safe and supportive environment for individuals to acknowledge and process their post-abortion symptoms. They help participants find forgiveness and peace in Christ while fostering connections with others who have shared similar experiences.

Join us this Thursday, November 6 to learn how God can use you to bring Hope and Healing to post-abortive women and men.

Marilyn Cudahy and Mara lead a thoughtful discussion on the importance of ministering to individuals affected by abortion, while highlighting various post-abortion ministries available to those in need.

There will be a moving memorial dedicated to the unborn and a captivating live ballet titled “Tilly,” a story of redemption.

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32

It’s free and refreshments are provided.

Every year, 73 million babies are killed through abortion around the world.
1 million here in America, and over 30 thousand here in Michigan.

God doesn’t call us just to hate abortion. He calls us to love the baby and the mother. He isn’t calling us to simply make abortion illegal; He’s calling us to make abortion unthinkable in the culture around us.

We do that by changing hearts and minds, by having Abundant Life Conversations.

To be pro-life is to actively stop the practices and places of abortion.
To be boots on the ground and hearts on the table in the lives of struggling expectant mothers.
To not only fight in prayer but with our presence in the circumstances of those who are in need.

Join us for Abundant Life Conversations this Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

Melissa Dykman and her three children will deliver a powerful presentation on how you and your children can bravely and effectively stand for truth and advocate for life.

By using theology, embryology, and logic, you will gain wisdom and knowledge to prepare yourself and your children to be voices for life and help rescue those being led away to death.

Emily Kroll of Right to Life of Michigan discusses the important efforts to protect and promote life in Michigan through their new ad campaign, “Life. The Other Choice.”

You will learn about the history of abortion, how we reached this point, and what actions we can take now to help save women and children.

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32

It’s free and we have snacks 🤗register at the link:

I’m a Christian, but I don’t read the Bible, go to church, or share the gospel. Does that make sense? Does it sound like I’m truly a Christian who loves God and my neighbor? Of course not. Why not?

According to Jesus, His followers are known by their acts of faith and love—they don't just claim to be Christian—they demonstrate their love for God and their love for their neighbor by sharing the gospel and helping those in need.

Would it make sense if I said, “I’m pro-life, I wouldn’t have an abortion and think it's wrong if others do, but…” then do nothing to help save women and children? That doesn't make sense either.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news of God's love and redemption for everyone who believes in Him. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus offers salvation to everyone who confesses with their mouth and believes in their heart that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9).

This grace also affirms the profound worth of every human life and the believers' responsibility to safeguard it.

In this post, I present five foundational Biblical principles that support the truth that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the sanctity of human life are deeply intertwined.

I’m a Christian, but I don’t read the Bible, go to church, or share the gospel. Does that make sense? Does it sound like I’m truly a Christian who loves God and my neighbor? Of course not. Why not? According to Jesus, His followers are known by their acts of faith and love—they don't just cl...

People are dying.

Babies are being poisoned, dismembered, and discarded as medical waste.

Women are being harmed, and some are dying. If not physically, spiritually. If they don’t die from the procedure, they are forever damaged by the reality of having paid someone to kill their child.

Women and men are suffering in silence the guilt, shame, and regret of abortion.

Due to the loss of those babies, we are losing families and generations of people.

Every year, 73 million babies are killed through abortion around the world. 1 million here in America, and over 30 thousand here in Michigan.

It is not enough to merely hate evil or even to help people who are hurting; we must also stop the things that hurt people.

To be pro-life is to actively stop the practices and places of abortion. To be boots on the ground and hearts on the table in the lives of struggling expectant mothers. To not only fight in prayer but with our presence in the circumstances of those who are in need.

God doesn’t call us to just hate abortion. He calls us to love the baby and the mother. He isn’t calling us to simply make abortion illegal; He’s calling us to make abortion unthinkable in the culture around us.

We do that by changing hearts and minds, by having Abundant Life Conversations.

The Bible says, “Whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”

Proverbs 24:10-12 says, “Rescue those being led away to death and restrain those stumbling toward the slaughter.

No Christian should turn a blind eye to the culture of death.

There comes a point when we have to say, ‘Enough is enough.’

Abortion is not a right; though it is legal, it is not our right to kill our children. It is a grave wrong that we must fight to correct. It is a grave sin against God, and Chrisitan’s ought to do something about it.

And we can, but we must look the evil in the eye, we must talk about it, and we must act. Not to act is to act. Silence equals consent.

Do you want to share your pro-life views but fear heated debates?

Did you know that you can learn how to lovingly and persuasively share your beliefs with those who disagree?

Join this Thursday at 6 pm at Immanuel Church to learn three essential skills that transform debates into dialogues and how to make a persuasive case against abortion for pro-choice people.

Kaitlyn Donihue of Justice For All has extensive experience and training in engaging in critical conversations about abortion and the sanctity of human life on college campuses nationwide. She speaks at churches, universities, and high schools, empowering pro-life individuals to share their views lovingly and persuasively.

In 2019, she began volunteering with Deeper Still, an abortion recovery ministry, in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Tennessee. In 2023, she established a chapter in Northeast Ohio and became the director of Deeper Still West Michigan in 2024. She wrote a booklet titled “Bridge to Healing” about the pain of abortion and the hope of healing for Christians to share with loved ones affected by abortion.

Don’t sit on the sidelines. Come and learn how you can be part of a conversation that makes it life or death difference.
