Join us this Sunday as Pastor James brings a message from Romans 1:1-7, "Defying and Honoring Descendants".

Everyone comes from somewhere and someone. There is no cosmic “Big Bang” that results in our birth; rather, human life ordinarily begins through the most basic, age-old means of sexual reproduction. Today, of course, we also consider artificial insemination and surrogacy as part of that reality. The great outlier in all of this, however, is the birth of Jesus. His was different, never to be repeated. Nevertheless, with our paternal and maternal lineage in mind, each of us has people who—whether we have met them in the flesh or not—have shaped our individual and collective journeys. Jesus had to be born and then nurtured before he saved us, partly by a community and family. As Christmas approaches, it is good to reflect on where we come from and who we come from, in light of God’s kind and persistent providence.
