On Friday, December 19, 2025, we held our Angel Tree distribution, serving about 400 families in the Clackamas area. What a blessing it was! I am beyond grateful for everyone who volunteered—each of you made a tremendous impact, not only on the day of the event but also in the many days leading up to it.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to visit the Capitol for Capitol Day, where I met Senator Mark Meek. During that visit, I was able to share my personal story and how The Salvation Army has helped me and my family, as well as the many opportunities it provides for others. After our visit, Lt. Sarah and I invited him to come see our work firsthand, knowing how busy his schedule is.
Through the Chamber of Commerce, Senator Meek learned about our Angel Tree distribution and took the time to join us. He volunteered for several hours—greeting families, carrying bags of toys, and helping load cars for the many families we served.
A huge thank you to all of our incredible volunteers and to Senator Mark Meek for their time, service, and support.

🔥 Rowena Fire Update 🔥
The Salvation Army is on the ground in The Dalles, responding to the aggressive Rowena Fire that continues to burn in the Columbia River Gorge. Fueled by record-dry conditions and gusty winds, this fire threatens lives, homes, and vital infrastructure.

Our Family Services & Food Pantry at 811 E. 2nd Street remains open (Mon/Wed/Fri, 1–3 p.m.) to serve the community. As always, we are here before, during, and after disaster strikes—without discrimination.

💬 “The Salvation Army will continue to meet community needs during this time,” says Major Jonathan Harvey. “Our emergency teams are ready to deploy when it’s safe to do so.”

Here’s how you can help:
Make a donation at salarmy.us/RowenaFire
Or mail a gift to: P.O. Box 1970, The Dalles, OR 97058
