Last night the woodlands trail boys were studying the Values Branch and our core was "Teamwork and cooperation". They had a "game" but it was really a teambuilding experience. They had to follow a path start to finish, using wood squares which two or three trailmen would have to share to get the next tile down.

On Oct 15 We has a combo meeting with American Heritage Girls. We had more new visiting Trailmen then ever before! For Woodlands it was our Worthy Life night. Our Chaplain Daniel Gross did a great job of explaining what faith is.
For Nav/Advs we also had a large group John and Peter Visited from 1227. We had 3 other new teenagers visiting our troop I and Mr Joe facilitated the creation of ideas for our Fall campout. We also discussed Buds, Thorns and Roses of the Elements this past weekend. They also cleaned and put away our troop equipment

Today we had our OCC packing party with our sister troop The American Heritage Girls. We managed to package 51 boxes! We had our opening and Campfire closing

Many boys today can't find where they "fit". If he's not athletic, particularly talented, or popular...then what? Maybe he's new in school, gets made fun of--or bullied. Is there anywhere he can be accepted, affirmed, and welcomed in? Let's make Trail Life that place of refuge. Let's be there for that boy. It's time to invite him in...to be part of US.

Yes invite them to a troop meeting ! ! We will challenge them!

Had a great meeting on Monday 10/7. The trailmen learned about First Aid. Here's a silly photo of my Hawk Patrol after they made a stretcher and carried a Trailmen to safety, then they did another, then they got the idea to carry two injured Trailmen. They are a great patrol of boys!

Many have found a home with us and a mission to serve boys and train them up so one day they can do the same.
We meet Mondays at 6pm to 7:30pm when school is in session.

More than ever, boys need a uniquely masculine program where their assertive, audacious, and adventurous nature is celebrated, not sequestered.

Let Boys Be Boys
Too many boys are turning to virtual worlds of television, video games, digital media, and the internet to find realms they can conquer and areas where they can excel. The result of this virtual conquest is often apathy, apparent rebellion, or outright resistance to real-world challenge.

Trail Life USA is where boys thrive! Adults are equipped to lead a program in a structured outdoor environment where boys are engaged in real-world challenge and experience camping, hiking, and fishing; they develop skills in riflery, archery, and canoeing; and learn character and leadership in a practical hands-on manner that is naturally engaging.

In the outdoors, the experience of adults is never obsolete; boys find mentors, fathers and sons connect, important relationships are fostered, and boys find opportunity to achieve significant accomplishment.
