Anointed Men Empowered Now

Anointed Men Empowered Now AMEN AMEN Ministries exists to reach, teach and release men to grow to their full potential in Christ. It must be bathed in prayer.

In achieving this vision, it is important that pastors and lay leaders pursue ministry to their men in a new and fresh way. Five building blocks that will contribute to the accomplishment of this goal are:

•Men's ministry must be seen from a spiritual perspective. It must be considered as much a part of the work of the Holy Spirit as any other area of ministry.

•There must be a balanced emphas

is on being versus doing. In other words, what a man becomes versus what he does.

•There must be gender-specificity. There is a difference between how one ministers to men versus how one ministers to women. Activities targeted at men must be tailored for men. These activities and ministries must be goal oriented with a clear sense of achievement evident at their conclusion.

•Intentional focus is the key – meaning that the outcome must be decided upon up front with a clear vision of what the major purpose is.

•Pastoral involvement is essential. This building block calls for pastors to become involved with their men, supporting ministry to and setting the example for their men. AMEN Ministries’ goal is to equip and empower the church to effectively reach men in and outside the church walls.

How do we see the hand of God move in our lives?
God's hand is always moving, meaning He is always at work, in our lives because God is sovereign over all life. Man may make plans but it is God who determines his steps (Proverbs 16:9). God's sovereign reign extends from the rise and fall of kings and nations to the very numbering of our days and hairs on our heads (Proverbs 21:1; Job 12:23; Psalm 47:8; Psalm 139:16; Matthew 10:30).

In the life of a Christian, God's hand is not only always moving, but is always moving for the believer's ultimate good. This does not mean that all things that happen to a believer are good in themselves, but that God works them all together for good (Romans 8:28). This can be difficult to understand until one realizes that the ultimate good for a believer is not external earthly comfort but internal conformity to the image of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29).

Two of the most important ways in which we can see God's hand move in our lives are through His Word and His Spirit. God's Word applied by God's Spirit is the means of our faith, regeneration, and growth in grace (Romans 10:17; John 3:8; 2 Timothy 3:16–17). It is through the preaching of the gospel and the power of the Spirit that God moves most powerfully in our lives to save us (Romans 1:16). It is by His Word and Spirit that we are called, justified, adopted, sanctified, and will one day be glorified (Romans 8:15; Romans 8:30; 1 Corinthians 6:11).

God's hand is also at work in the trials, temptations, and hardships of our lives (James 1:2–4). He uses these difficulties as a refiner of gold uses a furnace, to remove impurities (1 Peter 1:6–7). In love, God disciplines His children in order to bring about their holiness (Hebrews 12:6–11). God afflicts us so that we will learn His ways and learn to depend on Him (Psalm 119:67), our ultimate good.

When mankind chose sin over God, the earth became a ruined and imperfect place.
God's realm, being perfect and purely holy, was no longer able to coexist within our realm, and Heaven and earth were driven apart. Thankfully, God had a plan to bring them back together.

The first reunions between Heaven and earth took place in the temple. Here, animal sacrifices were used to atone in part for the sin of mankind, creating a sort of "clean zone" where Heaven and earth could meet and God could dwell with His people. We see this most clearly in accounts of the Holy of Holies - a place in the inner temple where God Himself resided and one that the high priests had to take the utmost care and precaution before entering.

Temples and animal sacrifices, though, were only a temporary solution for reuniting God's realm with ours. God's permanent solution was His son, Jesus Christ.

There are several Bible verses about Heaven that talk about Christ bringing Heaven down to earth. In Matthew 3:1-2

, John the Baptist proclaims "Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand," and in the Lord's Prayer, Christ says, "your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven."

Everywhere on earth that Christ visited, He brought little pieces of Heaven with Him, and though mankind ultimately killed Him, His death created a permanent access point between Heaven and earth. Today, Christ intercedes on our behalf and allows us to approach the throne of God whenever we desire through prayer. Though Heaven and earth are still far from fully united, the two realms do overlap thanks to the death of Christ - the ultimate sacrifice that offers us the forgiveness and sanctification we must have in order to interact with God and the heavenly realm.

Ok one more time.... Here is Jesus on the night before his death looking down through future generations and interceding for you and me.

What a mind-boggling thought. Jesus, God in flesh, praying for you. You were on his mind. I was on his mind. Take a moment and let that soak in. In less than 24 hours Jesus would be enduring the darkness and the weight of the world’s sin. Yet, in these moments you are on his mind.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. John 17:20-23 (NLT)

The only time Jesus prays for us in Scripture, he prays that we would be one. He doesn’t intercede for us about money, health, happiness, knowledge, close-knit families, big churches, or good jobs. He prays for unity.

How do we live a godly life in an ungodly world? How do we manage to sort out sinful judgment of others from the Scripture’s command to “know their fruit?”

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve caught myself thinking,

“I can’t believe she did that. What was she thinking?”

“I will NEVER let my children behave that way.”

“My husband may not be perfect, but at least he doesn’t do THAT!”

And as soon as those thoughts hit my lips, I remember that my friend would never do some of the things I do, would never let her children get away with some of the things mine do, and doesn’t exactly think my Wife is perfect either. (How dare he?)

Surely it breaks the heart of God when we compare ourselves to others, judging them in a way we hope to never be judged. Do remember judge not and let's live a better way in Jesus.

For frontline health care workers, we thank you for their vocational call to serve us. We also pray:

God, keep them safe and healthy. Keep their families safe and healthy.
God, help them to be knowledgeable about the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, as well as the changing protocols.
God, help them to stay clear-minded in the midst of the surrounding panic.
God, deliver them from anxiety for their own loved ones (aging parents, children, spouses, roommates).
God, give them compassion for every patient in their care.
God, provide for them financially, especially if they fall ill and are unable to work.
God, help Christians in health care to exhibit extraordinary peace, so that many would ask about the reason for their hope. Give them opportunities to proclaim the gospel. In Jesus name Amen

Meditation and Obedience

One of the ways we connect with God is through Scripture, but merely reading Scripture or even studying it is not enough. The connection is extended and made stronger as we meditate on Scripture. Psalm 119 connects meditation and obedience. God does the perfecting as we meditate on Scripture and then let it resonate in our lives all day long.
Psalm 119:97–104

Heavenly Father, I come to You today, bowing in my heart, asking for protection from the evil one.
Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind.
Surround us with Your divine hedge of protection. Encompass us with Your strength and might.
Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for job. And may You shelter us, that those who love Your name may exult in You. In Jesus name amen.
