Living in poverty and crisis, too many of our kids today are at risk of becoming disconnected, lost, and forgotten…United In Christ Ministries (UICM) is a Christian-based, nonprofit organization serving kids and their families in the Black Hills neighborhood & surrounding communities of Grand Rapids, Michigan. With hearts on fire for the Lord, WE ARE all about Connecting Kids with Christ, our Community, and Local Churches!!! Through our core programs, community outreach events, and mentoring relationships, we encourage, inspire, and help our kids to form strong values, make good choices, develop life skills, and discover God’s purpose for their lives. By providing consistent and loving support, UICM is empowering young people to find FAITH and HOPE, while impacting our community with LOVE…One kid at a time!!!

Our older boys have spent the first part of this year digging into character building! This past week they talked about integrity and the importance of who we are even when no one is watching!

Who first taught you to measure ingredients and follow a recipe? These boys tackled this challenge with confidence this past week! They made delicious power balls! They also continued on their journey through the Old Testament!

This week at KidsZone we learned all about Joshua, God's omniscience, and that we do not need to be afraid! What a sweet night packed with lessons from start to finish!

Pivotal had a home night this week! We met in our (Becca and David's) apartment for Mario Kart, apples and caramel, sweet fellowship, and a lesson on the Woman at the Well. For some reason, the atmosphere of a home changes the entire night!

Our girls practiced the timeless skill of writing thank-you notes last week. It never ceases to amaze me that kids don't learn how to address an envelope very often anymore! What a sweet way to build skills and practice gratitude. We also learned about Hager and the God who sees us!
