Reformed Church in America (RCA)

Reformed Church in America (RCA) Live and love like Jesus. That sums up what we’re about in the Reformed Church in America. Social media covenant: https://www.rca.org/policies/

We’re transformed, and we’re transforming. As God changes us to become more like Christ, we’re helping other people and churches seek that change, too. We’re equipping leaders for the church, leaders of all ages and ethnicities and backgrounds. Together, we reflect the beautiful diversity of God’s church. We’re also engaging in mission—sharing Christ’s love at home and around the world. Social media discussion covenant: http://bit.ly/1it08W9

O Lord, our Sovereign God,
You are neither made nor fashioned by anyone.
Wonderful beyond measure,
You are faithful Father, servant Son, and enlivening Spirit.
Holy Lord, beautiful and dynamic,
Intimately united as a society of love,
You are our Creator and cause,
You are our perfect Savior,
You are our Intercessor and giver of spiritual gifts.
The Lord of all has called us forth;
Our Triune God has made us good.
Hallelujah, bless the Lord.
Hallelujah, praise God’s holy name!

Adapted from the Athanasian Creed, which emphasizes the equal nature of the three persons of our Triune God.

May this Pentecost inspire us to be amazed and astonished by the continued work of the Holy Spirit among us. Let our hearts be stirred so that we faithfully answer the Spirit’s calling, until all people in the world hear in their own language how deep and rich is the love of God.

Join us for a transformative journey tracing the path of justice, memory, and spiritual renewal through the American South. This Sankofa experience will take us from the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to the footsteps of Montgomery’s powerful sites of resistance and hope, as well as a visit to the Pettus Bridge in Selma. This journey is designed to inspire reflection, deepen understanding, and cultivate justice-oriented faith leadership. You are invited to learn, understand, and be part of the RCA’s commitment to a multiracial, multicultural future freer from racism. On this Ascension Day, 40 days after Easter, we mark the end of Jesus’s ministry on earth and his triumphant rise to the right hand of God the Father. This important moment in the life of Jesus comes with both a promise of God’s continued presence for his disciples—the Holy Spirit—and a call to be Christ’s witnesses to all the earth. As we look heavenward, may we be refreshed in our mission to make known the love of God and make disciples.

Happy Easter! With great joy, we worship the risen Christ, who has defeated sin and death: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God” (Revelation 19:1).

With solemnity and grief, we mark Good Friday. It is a sad day, for Jesus gave up his life for us. It is a good day, for God loved us so much, he gave up his Son for us.

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before him. ... Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord and proclaim his deliverance to a people yet unborn, saying that he has done it.” —Psalm 22:27, 30-31

On Maundy Thursday, many Christians partake in the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Christ’s last supper with his disciples before his death. By eating and drinking the Lord’s Supper, we are reminded that Jesus wants us to love each other and to forgive each other as he has done for us: “Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34). This is the command represented in the word “Maundy,” which comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning “command.” On this day and every day, may our lives be marked by Christ’s love for us as we extend that love to others.
