SEASON OF CREATION is a Liturgical Season of the Church, just like Advent, Lent,...It was initiated by Pope Francis in 2015 and is affirmed by Pope Leo. Pope Leo has also approved a Liturgy of the Eucharist for the Care of Creation. We, at
Sts. Mary and John have an opportunity to begin the Season of Creation with a Mass for the Care of Creation on World Day of Prayer for Creation. This will take place on Tues. September 1, at the 12:05 pm weekday Mass. We hope for a large participation for this very special celebration of the beginning of the Season of Creation extends to October 4 which is also the Feast of St Francis of Assisi. There will be a number of special events as part of this special season. Let’s celebrate God's gifts of creation and grow in care of God's gifts to us.

Pilgrimage for Creation! Join the Benedictine Sisters and Monks as they celebrate the Season of Creation on Saturday, September 5, 8:30am -12:30pm. We will gather in Ferdinand at the Sister's Monastery, begins with a light breakfast and prayer at the Event Hall. We will journey to the Monk's Monastery for prayer and a sack lunch. Everyone can participate in this six mile pilgrimage! You can walk part or all the way.; you can carpool or ride a wagon part or all the way. We will journey past fields and rural areas enjoying God's gifts in nature. We will meet at St. Mary and John parish parking lot at 7:30 am CT to carpool with us or you drive separately and meet us there. Laudato Si’ Week is an annual event that is part of Pope Francis’ appeal for a 7-year journey toward sustainability and integral ecology.

“Lord teach us to pray!” Here comes a Faith Formation Series from Deacon John McMullen.
Deacon John will lead a scripture study on the book of Psalms and the “Our Father” beginning Tues, September 15 in Rager Hall from 12:45-2:15 pm This adult Faith Formation Series will be held in Rager Hall Tuesdays; September 15, 22, 29; October 6, 13, 20, 27 and November 3, 2026.
Come join us... this is open to everyone.
Please bring your bible or a study bible.
