Hope you can join in worship at 10 AM this Sunday as we focus on loving God & neighbor & gather around Christ’s table to eat, drink, & remember ♥️

A blessing for you, for the second Sunday in Lent.

BLESSING THAT MEETS YOU IN LOVE

It is true that
every blessing begins
with love,
that whatever else
it might say,
love is always
precisely its point.

But it should be noted
that this blessing
has come today
especially to tell you
it is crazy about you.
That it has been
in love with you
forever.
That it has never
not wanted
to see your face,
to go through this world
in your company.

This blessing thought
it was high time
it told you so,
just to make sure
you know.

If it has been shy
in saying this,
it has not been
for any lack of
wanting to.
It’s just that
this blessing
knows the risk
of offering itself
in a way that
will so alter you—
because this is
simply where
loving leads.

This blessing knows
how love undoes us,
unhinges us,
unhides us.

It knows
how loving
can sometimes feel
like dying.

But today
this blessing
has come to tell you
the secret
that sends it
to your door:
that it gives itself
to those
willing to come alive;
that it vows itself
to those
ready to be
born anew.

The Rev. Jihyun Oh, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly and Executive Director of the Interim Unified Agency of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), has signed on to an amicus brief for a United States Supreme Court case on immigration. The case, Department of Homeland Security v. Al Otro Lado, concerns the constitutionality of the “turn back” policy enacted by the first Trump administration, in which U.S. agents turned away those seeking asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border. Plan to join come for worship this Sunday at 10 a.m. as we begin the hopeful waiting that defines the season of Advent. We will also have our Advent Workshop after worship. It’s an opportunity to make a wreath or swag with fresh greenery (as well as other crafting options), gather Advent devotional materials to take home, and enjoy fun, food, and fellowship together.

Our theme this Advent and Christmas is from the creative minds at A Sanctified Art. Together we will honestly name our fears and tenaciously hold into hope, claiming the promise of the Incarnation.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we name and mourn the many transgender, nonbinary and gender non-conforming people murdered each year because of their gender identity; each of them a beloved child of God and a story cut tragically short. We invite you to share the names of who you are remembering today in the comments.
