Second Friday Sound Bath
Friday, May 8, 9-10 AM in Berktold Hall

A sound bath is a deeply immersive, meditative experience where participants are bathed in therapeutic sound waves from instruments like singing bowls, chimes, shakers, and voice. Allow the resonant frequencies to gently guide your brain into a relaxed, prayerful, stress-relieving state. All are welcome at this free offering led by parishioner Jessi R. Bring a mat, pillow, and/or blanket or use one provided, or sit in a chair!

The Season of Easter

In the Episcopal Church, the Season of Easter is the great fifty-day celebration of Christ’s resurrection, beginning with Easter Day and continuing through the Day of Pentecost. It is not just one Sunday, but a full festive season of joy, renewal, and proclamation.

Easter is the Church’s principal celebration of Jesus Christ’s victory over sin and death. The tone of the season is joyful and triumphant:

*“Alleluia” returns prominently in worship
*The Paschal Candle is central
*White or gold vestments are typically used
*The liturgy emphasizes resurrection, baptism, and new life

“I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.” Genesis 12:2b

On Sunday the 4th-6th grade Sunday school class examined God’s covenant with Abram. We talked about what we have been blessed with and how we can use our blessings to be a blessing to others. We finished class by writing down some of our blessings and then shared them with the rest of the congregation by posting them to be seen during coffee hour.

We know that there is a lot to worry about and a lot to be sad about in the world but we invite you to spend some time thinking about your blessings today.

Guest Preacher - Author Cara Meredith

On Sunday, February 22nd, we will have a special guest preacher at the 9:30 and 11 AM services. Cara Meredith, a Pacific Northwest native, is the author of “Church Camp” and “The Color of Life.” In addition to
preaching, Cara will join us for a conversation following the 11 AM worship service. Join parishioner Ali S. and Cara Meredith as they lead a conversation about Cara’s experience as an Evangelical turned Episcopalian. Regardless of your own faith journey, we think you’ll appreciate the conversation.

A reflection on today’s

Reveling

Here at the farm, our pigs revel in the mud, digging in with their snouts, rolling on their bellies, even taking long naps half submerged. When they eventually emerge from this reveling, there is no hiding what they have been up to. Caked in mud, their actions are self-evident. This Advent, I wonder what it would look like to be clothed in the armor of light, instead of the debauchery of consumerism or quarreling with our neighbor. What would the markings look like? How would others recognize them?

Written by Jerusalem Jackson Greer
..let us live honorably as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. Romans 13:13
