🚨 IMPORTANT JUMU’AH UPDATE — JUMU’AH CANCELLED AT NWIIC 🚨

Assalamu Alaikum NWIIC Community,

After further assessing the conditions at the masjid, Jumu’ah prayer will no longer be held at NWIIC tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the masjid remains without electricity and running water, leaving our wudu and restroom facilities unavailable. Additionally, making the women’s section completely inaccessible due to darkness. With the worsening weather conditions, we are also expecting very limited natural light inside the building.

Given these circumstances and out of concern for the safety and well-being of our community, we believe it is best that everyone remain home and make alternative arrangements for their prayers tomorrow.

Islam provides ease and accommodation when circumstances create genuine hardship.
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Allah the Most High loves that His permissions be practiced, just as He dislikes that disobedience to Him be committed.”

We are also reminded of the example of Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه. On a cold and windy night, he instructed the mu’adhdhin to announce:

“Pray in your dwellings. Pray in your dwellings.”

He then explained that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would instruct the mu’adhdhin to make this announcement during cold or rainy conditions while traveling.

🤲 Please note again: There will be NO Jumu’ah prayers held at NWIIC tomorrow.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we navigate circumstances outside of our control. Please stay updated with our communication channels, once the center has power, everyone will be notified as soon as possible. If power is back in the morning, we will continue with our regular jummah schedule.

Please stay safe, check on your family, neighbors, and fellow community members, and continue to keep everyone affected by the storms and outages in your duas.

May Allah ﷻ protect our community, grant ease to everyone experiencing hardship, and reward everyone for their intentions.
