As we continue serving in Honduras, we want to share an important message and reminder regarding the privacy, dignity, and protection of Honduran children and adolescents. This guidance is now being applied nationwide as part of the government’s legal requirements.

SENAF (Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family) has issued guidance regarding the use and publication of photos, videos, and personal information involving minors. While we understand that many times our intention is simply to share what God is doing, celebrate our ministry, raise awareness, or encourage others to support the work, we must always make sure that our desire to communicate does not unintentionally compromise a child’s privacy or dignity.

To our beloved volunteers serving through UMVIM Honduras, please remember:

• Always prioritize the best interests of the child.
• Avoid posting identifiable photos or videos of minors in sensitive or vulnerable situations.
• Be especially careful when sharing images involving medical care, poverty, difficult circumstances, or personal stories.
• When in doubt, ask before posting and consult your team leader or UMVIM Honduras staff.
• Remember that protecting someone’s dignity is more important than getting the perfect picture or telling the perfect story.

Our mission is not only to serve people; we are also called to love, respect, protect, and honor them.

Thank you for helping us maintain the highest standards of care and respect as we serve alongside our Honduran brothers and sisters. What we share publicly should always reflect the same love, dignity, and compassion that we seek to demonstrate through our service.
