☀️Summer, here we come☀️

Today was the last day of school for the kids and they all had a blast at our field day! This year we gathered into a peace sign for our final group photo as we close the chapter on another memorable year.

Thank you to all the volunteers, parents and all those that made today and this year a major success and we cannot wait to see what moments await us all in the next coming school year!

Name Change Coming Soon!

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Philip Neri- a priest who was famous for his light hearted approach to guiding his parishioners. He was even known to give silly penances for those who went to him for confession, such as being told to carry his cat around the city to help his strict and uptight parishioners humble themselves and understand the great joy they should be experiencing from the unending love they receive from God! (Where do I sign up?!)

As we celebrated today's mass and reflected on St. Philip, we at St. Leo's felt moved by the spirit to entrust our Young Adult's group to him and to make St. Philip Neri our official patron saint of the group.

This has also inspired us, along with suggestions and guidance from other group members, to realize our new new name- that of which we will be announcing here soon.

So be sure to keep your eyes open, to consider joining our young adults group here at St. Leo the Great and to ask with your hearts full of love and joy for St. Philip Neri to Pray for Us!

⛪️ Say hello to our new Acolytes group! ⛪️

Due to the incredible increase of young adults attending and wanting to be involved at St. Leo's, Father has invited a group of young men to learn altar serving the traditional way that helps call the hearts to consider the priesthood and other religious vocations!

Pictured here are but a handful of the actual larger and growing group gathering together the last couple weeks practicing serving the mass and we have even more interested in signing up soon as well!

In addition to this acolytes program, we are also beginning a unique mass service aimed toward the young adults that will happen once or twice a month beginning THIS SUNDAY at 7pm!

So if you are in your 20's or 30's or know someone who might be interested, please direct them to us this Sunday in the smaller chapel area of the church at 7pm!

And if you were also interested in joining our acolyte group and getting a closer look at the religious vocations, please email us at [email protected]

🎓 Congratulations to all our Eighth Grade Graduates!! 🎓

On behalf of the entire team and staff of St. Leo the Great, we couldn't be more proud of you and we know you are all truly capable of greatness!

Continue to work hard, never give up and in times of darkness lean not on your own understanding but rather lean on and trust in the immense faithfulness of the LORD! May He with His great love for all of you bless you, your families and your futures!

And a well earned congratulations to all the parents as well! The students' achievements are yours as well and we understand all the hard work and support you give your children that goes into milestones like this. Thank you for setting such a great example for our community!

Below are some photos taken throughout the celebration from Tuesday night- please share this with everyone who went and would want to save some extra camera angles and to those who couldn't make it so they can see what a wonderful night it truly was!

"A Celebration of the Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood"

This past Tuesday on May 19th, the Cleveland Diocesan Bishop Malesic celebrated mass on the occasion of many of our local priests hitting ordination milestones in their priesthood.

Our own Fr. Schmitz was in attendance, recognizing his own 40th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood! Congratulations Father, and thank you for all that you do for our parish and community!

There will be a celebration for Father Schmitz ' ordination taking place at St. Leo the Great in June so stay tuned for more info to make sure you can congratulate and thank him in person!

This year's priest jubilee was a beautiful mass filled with incense and grace followed by a delicious meal, all held within the church and grounds of St. Basil the Great. A church recently renovated and we encourage you all to visit them sometime and see the great work they have done!

🕊️Today we celebrate the feast of St. Matthias, the apostle who took the place of Judas Iscariot following his death🕊️

May today be a reminder to us all that God has revealed the structure for his Church here on Earth through the authority given to the apostles and passed down through all subsequent bishops.

Often, we see how quick the world is to persecute and attack God's chosen servants. So let us pray today for our Pope, Bishops, Priests, Deacons and all those who have answered God's call and dedicated their lives for God's kingdom here on Earth.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the wonderful mothers of St. Leo the Great Parish! 💐🙏

This weekend we celebrate you — your love, your faith, your sacrifices, and the beautiful way you reflect God’s own heart in our families and community. Thank you for all you do!

As we continue our special month of honoring Mary, the Mother of God, here are more beautiful moments from our May Crowning School Mass. These young hearts crowned Our Lady and lifted up prayers for their own mothers and all mothers — a perfect reminder of the gift of motherhood in the Church.

From the St. Leo the Great Parish & School team, we pray you have a peaceful, joy-filled, and blessed Mother’s Day weekend surrounded by those you love.

Hail Mary, full of grace… pray for us! 🌹

🕯️Let Christ be your light in the darkness..🕯️

Last night we had a wonderful turn out for our F3-Young Adults Faith Night at the Parish Center. Eric Perusek led with his powerful faith testimony followed by deep and meaningful conversations about suffering and how we can grow in surrender to Christ and His plan for our lives.

We enjoyed the company of new faces, some of the churches most beloved newborns, and familiar faces this group has grown to know and cherish.

If you are in your 20's/30's and are interested in joining our group please reach out to [email protected]

Our next gathering will be for dinner at a location still to be determined on May 20th at 7pm.

May God grant us all the grace to trust His love while we continue to carry our cross.

🌷What a blessed day with our St. Leo the Great PSR students!🌷

Yesterday our PSR class took a wonderful pilgrimage just 30 minutes away to the Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Euclid, OH. It was a perfect spring day filled with faith, fellowship, and inspiration.

The morning began with a mass inside their beautiful church filled with Lourdes themed stained glass. Mass was followed by a delicious breakfast prepared by the kind nuns, followed by a heartfelt talk from Sister Phyllis. She beautifully reflected on the powerful role of Our Blessed Mother in our faith and shared stories of the miracles at the original Lourdes in France — as well as the many graces and miracles that have taken place right here at this hidden gem in our own backyard.

Thank you to all the students, chaperones, and especially Sister Phyllis and all the Sisters at the Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine for making this pilgrimage so meaningful!

Hail Mary, full of grace… pray for us! 🙏

🌹👑 Happy May Crowning! 👑🌹
Today at St. Leo the Great, we crown our Blessed Mother with flowers as we honor her as Queen of the Angels and Queen of the May!

“O Mary, we crown thee with blossoms today,
Queen of the Angels and Queen of the May!”

Immaculate Mary, your praises we sing — you reign now in splendor with Jesus our King. 🙏

Thank you to everyone who helped make this beautiful tradition come alive. May Our Lady’s intercession bring blessings to all our families, our school, and our parish throughout this month dedicated to her.
