Vocations do not begin in seminary. They begin at home.

One of the greatest gifts a father can give his son is to teach him how to pray, how to serve, and how to love Christ and His Church. Long before a young man hears a call to the priesthood or diaconate, he is watching his father.

Bring your boys to Divine Liturgy. Encourage them to serve in the altar. Let them stand close to the Holy Mysteries. Let them see that faith is not something we do for an hour on Sunday, but a way of life.

Many priests, deacons, and seminarians first discovered their vocation as altar servers. They learned to love the Church not from a textbook, but by serving at the altar and seeing their fathers take the faith seriously.

The future of the Church is being formed today - in our homes, in our parishes, and in the hearts of our children.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
