Join us for the following activities at Edison Park Lutheran Church this week. On Monday we have a small group bible study at 7:00 pm. On Tuesday and Thursday morning we have easy exercise class for ages 55+ at 8:25 am. In addition on Tuesday, we have Bell Rehearsal at 5:00 pm and Choir Rehearsal at 6:15 pm. On Wednesday we have Confirmation class at 6:00 pm and Youth Choir rehearsal at 7:30 pm. On Friday the Mission Quilt Makers meet at 9:00 am. We offer a traditional worship service on Saturday at 5:00 pm and on Sunday morning at 9:00 am. Join us for coffee, treats and conversation on Sunday morning at 10:00 am. We also offer Sunday School for children at 10:00 am. We offer a contemporary worship service and a Baptism on Sunday at 11:00 am.

Joyce B. Weickart, nee Behmer, 98, at peace October 9, 2026, surrounded by her family in Gibson City, IL. Beloved wife of the late Richard F. Weickart. Loving mother of Judi (the late Alan) Johnson, Sheri (the late Richard) Sears, the late Jeff, Sue (Dave) Ottow, Greg (Dar) and the late Dean (Kim).

Cherished grandmother of Dawn (Bret) Gromley, Rich Johnson (Anna Shreiner), Barb (the late Chuck) Kolder, Karen (the late Kenny) Thurman, Cathie (Don) Ellis, Lynette (the late Gary) Sears, Kristy Ottow, the late Jamie Weickart, Angie (Tim) Aviles, Ej Weickart Smith, Kelly Weickart, Dan Weickart and Jill Weickart (Tim Deering).

Great-Great-Grandma of Nathan Kolder, Natalie Kolder, Zachary Kolder, Trent Hanner, Coby Thurman, Caleb Thurman, Carter Thurman, Damian Ellis, Augustine Ellis, Nova Johnson, Lyric Johnson, and Harmony Johnson. Dear sister of Marilyn (Bob) Sand and Bill Behmer. Fond aunt of Wendy Sand, Deb Hanko, Kim (the late Benton) Hanson and the late Randy Sand.

Joyce was a mother of 6, Grandma of 13, great gram of 25, and great great of 12, and countless adopted kids and neighbors to whom she will always be Ma Weickart. She was a longtime member of Edison Park Lutheran Church and was dedicated to all children through Scouting, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and teacher’s aide in the Chicago Public Schools.

A memorial gathering will take place on October 24, 2026, 10:00 a.m. until time of service 11:00 a.m. at Edison Park Lutheran Church, 6626 N. Oliphant, Chicago. Interment of cremains immediately following services in the church All Saints Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Edison Park Lutheran Church Foundation at edisonparkchurch.com
