Vera was blessed with six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She had a 95th birthday party in July attended by each one of her family. A member of Edison Park Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL for over 60 years, Vera was involved in worship, Jubilant Circle, Good New Singers, and Kitchen Committee. She was an avid supporter of the youth group and the Selah Singers in the 1970s.
Vera resided at Luther Village since 2013. She loved being involved in community life as a neighbor, Ambassador, Scandinavian Club, Bible Study and worship participant and social activities. She insisted on wearing her name tag so new people could easily identify her. Vera also enjoyed time at the north woods cabin with family and friends since 1982.
Vera loved Christ Jesus and Scripture. Her greatest hope was that all would come to know Jesus as Savior. She had many scripture songs, favorites being “This Is The Day The Lord Has Made”, (Psalm 118:35) and “Oh The Lord is Good to Me.“ She will be deeply missed but we rejoice in the hope we have in Christ Jesus.Vera’s family is grateful for your prayers and support over the years and especially in the last weeks.
