🍎🍏 APPLEPALOOZA 2026 was a BIG hit! 🍏🍎

Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students celebrated fall with hands-on learning, smiles & laughter, and plenty of apples!

Students rotated through different stations that brought learning to life. They tasted red, green, and yellow apples and documented their observations, created apple-inspired art, weighed apples, made some fizzy science discoveries, and enjoyed reading stories and passages all about apples. 📚⚖️🎨

Reading, math, science, art, friendship, and fun—all wrapped into one delicious day of learning! And, of course, the best part was getting to eat some tasty apples along the way! 😋🍎

APPLEPALOOZA 2026 was one for the books 🔥🔥🔥

❤️ We were blessed to welcome 75 grandparents and grand-friends to CWSCS for Grandparents Day 2026! 🙌🙌🙌

Our students and their grandparents shared breakfast and broke bread together, spent time in the classrooms, worshiped together during chapel, and toured the school. Along the way, there were plenty of smiles, hugs, pictures, and special memories made. 😁🤗📸✨

It takes a village to raise and support a child, and we are so thankful for the grandparents and grand-friends who are such an important part of the CWSCS village. 💙🦅💛

🏛️ A HISTORIC DAY AT THE OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL CENTER! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

🔥 Our 1st–8th grade students had an incredible opportunity to be among one of the very first school groups to tour the new Obama Presidential Center Museum!

🔓 With museum tickets still extremely limited and difficult to secure, we were thrilled to make sure our students were among the first to experience this historic new Chicago landmark. At Chicago West Side Christian School, we believe some of the most memorable learning happens outside the walls of the classroom, and we work hard to give our students opportunities to experience it firsthand.

📋 This wasn’t just a field trip—it was a beyond the classroom learning experience! Throughout the museum, students carried clipboards and completed a Museum Explorer Log as they examined artifacts, watched videos, explored exhibits, and learned about President Barack Obama’s historic election and presidency.

🛝 After touring the museum, students had time to enjoy the expansive playground and explore the beautiful grounds, including John Lewis Plaza and Home Court.

🙏 We are incredibly grateful that our students had the opportunity to experience this piece of history so early. We don’t just want our students to read about history—we want to give them opportunities to experience it.

🔥 Another unforgettable day of learning, exploring, and creating memories at CWSCS!

🧸 And don’t worry—we didn’t forget about our littlest learners! Our PreK and Kindergarten students had an adventure of their own, spending the day learning, playing, and exploring at the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn!

🐻🏈 For the second year in a row, we welcomed Staley Da Bear to CWSCS!

Our students had such a great time with Staley at last year’s Back 2 School Rally that we knew we had to bring him back. But this year, his visit had a little different focus: getting our students FIRED UP for their Beginning-of-Year diagnostic testing! 🔥🔥🔥

These assessments are important. We encourage every student to give their very best effort because we use this data to help drive instruction and create targeted groups for intervention and enrichment throughout the year.

And Staley definitely got them ready! The kids cheered, screamed, danced, and had an absolute blast! 🙌🥳

The last time Staley and the students from CWSCS got together, things turned out pretty well for BOTH…💪💪💪

📈 CWSCS students made tremendous academic gains last year:
📖 +32% points in Reading
➗ +46% points in Math

🏆 And the Bears won the NFC North Championship

We can't wait to see what 2026–27 has in store for our CWSCS Eagles AND the Chicago Bears!

Our Head of School is a Lions fan. Our Principal is a Bears fan. Please keep our leadership team in prayer! LOL😂🙏🏾🏈

Divided on football, BUT UNITED FOR Chicago West Side Christian School ! 🦅

We are super excited to Welcome Staley Da Bear back this year for our annual back to school and test prep assembly. We are looking forward to the fun and exciting things that are going to take place here at CWSCS this year.

Happy football day everyone! Have a fantastic weekend.💙💛 Stay tuned for pictures from our assembly.

🔥 WHAT A START TO THE SCHOOL YEAR! 🔥

😊 The first few days at Chicago West Side Christian have been filled with smiling faces, laughter in the hallways, and joyful reunions! 💙💛

We kicked off the year in a special way, with community members joining our staff to welcome students back on the first morning. There was such great energy as our kids walked through the doors ready for a new year! 🙌🏾🎒

And we have plenty to celebrate already:

📈 125 students welcomed on our first day — a 14% increase from last year’s first day!

✅ 95% attendance to start the year strong!

🚀 Routines are being established, relationships are being strengthened, community is being built — and most importantly, our students are already jumping back into learning!

🙏🏾 We are incredibly grateful for the families who entrust their children to CWSCS, the supporters and community members who invest in our mission, and everyone who believes in what is happening here at Chicago West Side Christian.

🔥 What an amazing first couple of weeks we’ve had in our Summer School & Enrichment Program! Every day is packed with opportunities to learn, explore, create, and have fun.

📚 Mornings are all about academics as students rotate through engaging Math, Reading, and STEM classes, helping them stay sharp and confident for the upcoming school year.

🎨 Afternoons are all about enrichment! Students get hands-on with gardening, baking, arts & crafts, fun games, and so much more.

🛼 One of the biggest hits each week is when we transform our gym into a mini skating rink where students ride their ride scooters, bikes, and roller skates.

🦅 Our Summer School & Enrichment Program is open to both Chicago West Side Christian School students and students from other schools, giving children a safe, engaging place to learn, grow, and enjoy their summer.

🤩 As we celebrate the Fourth of July weekend, we’re already looking forward to four more incredible weeks of smiles, friendships, discovery, and fun!

📸 Check out a few highlights from our summer so far—we can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store! 💙💛
