🐻🏈 For the second year in a row, we welcomed Staley Da Bear to CWSCS!

Our students had such a great time with Staley at last year’s Back 2 School Rally that we knew we had to bring him back. But this year, his visit had a little different focus: getting our students FIRED UP for their Beginning-of-Year diagnostic testing! 🔥🔥🔥

These assessments are important. We encourage every student to give their very best effort because we use this data to help drive instruction and create targeted groups for intervention and enrichment throughout the year.

And Staley definitely got them ready! The kids cheered, screamed, danced, and had an absolute blast! 🙌🥳

The last time Staley and the students from CWSCS got together, things turned out pretty well for BOTH…💪💪💪

📈 CWSCS students made tremendous academic gains last year:
📖 +32% points in Reading
➗ +46% points in Math

🏆 And the Bears won the NFC North Championship

We can't wait to see what 2026–27 has in store for our CWSCS Eagles AND the Chicago Bears!

We are super excited to Welcome Staley Da Bear back this year for our annual back to school and test prep assembly. We are looking forward to the fun and exciting things that are going to take place here at CWSCS this year.

🔥 WHAT A START TO THE SCHOOL YEAR! 🔥

😊 The first few days at Chicago West Side Christian have been filled with smiling faces, laughter in the hallways, and joyful reunions! 💙💛

We kicked off the year in a special way, with community members joining our staff to welcome students back on the first morning. There was such great energy as our kids walked through the doors ready for a new year! 🙌🏾🎒

And we have plenty to celebrate already:

📈 125 students welcomed on our first day — a 14% increase from last year’s first day!

✅ 95% attendance to start the year strong!

🚀 Routines are being established, relationships are being strengthened, community is being built — and most importantly, our students are already jumping back into learning!

🙏🏾 We are incredibly grateful for the families who entrust their children to CWSCS, the supporters and community members who invest in our mission, and everyone who believes in what is happening here at Chicago West Side Christian.

🔥 What an amazing first couple of weeks we’ve had in our Summer School & Enrichment Program! Every day is packed with opportunities to learn, explore, create, and have fun.

📚 Mornings are all about academics as students rotate through engaging Math, Reading, and STEM classes, helping them stay sharp and confident for the upcoming school year.

🎨 Afternoons are all about enrichment! Students get hands-on with gardening, baking, arts & crafts, fun games, and so much more.

🛼 One of the biggest hits each week is when we transform our gym into a mini skating rink where students ride their ride scooters, bikes, and roller skates.

🦅 Our Summer School & Enrichment Program is open to both Chicago West Side Christian School students and students from other schools, giving children a safe, engaging place to learn, grow, and enjoy their summer.

🤩 As we celebrate the Fourth of July weekend, we’re already looking forward to four more incredible weeks of smiles, friendships, discovery, and fun!

🥚🐣🐥 Every spring, our students participate in our annual Chick Hatch Project, where they incubate chicken eggs in the classroom and learn all about the hatching process through hands-on STEM learning and observation.

Watching the chicks begin to hatch today brought so much excitement and joy to our classrooms. Learning truly came to life right before their eyes 👀👀👀

Now the students can’t wait for the chance to hold their baby chicks. Such a fun tradition and amazing learning opportunity at Chicago West Side Christian! 💙🦅💛

✨ What a special night at the Chicago West Side Christian Annual Benefit!

🔥 From our silent auction and raffles with fantastic prizes to amazing food catered by Beyond Catering, to inspiring student performances, heartfelt fellowship, and meaningful networking—it was a night that beautifully showcased what makes Chicago West Side Christian so special.

🫶🏽 One of the greatest highlights was seeing the entire CWSCS family together—students, parents, staff, alumni, former staff, community supporters, and friends of the school—all united around a shared mission: investing in the students, teachers, and mission of Chicago West Side Christian.

🏛️ We were honored to welcome representatives for State Senator Lakesia Collins and 24th Ward Alderwoman Monique L. Scott and incredibly grateful that Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson sent a special video message in support of our school and benefit.

🎬 Guests also got the world premiere of our new promotional video, highlighting the heart, impact, and future of CWSCS.

🙏 To everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored, bid in the auction, or supported from afar—thank you. If you weren’t able to make it this year, we hope to see you next year.
