Holy Covenant United Methodist Church

Holy Covenant United Methodist Church Seek God. Love All People. Change the World. Messy. Human. Real. Alive. We range in age from infant to 90, with a median age of 30.

These words were part of a recent Holy Covenant advertising campaign, but they’re not slick marketing lingo—they truly describe this community. Our membership is approximately 180 people, though many people who participate in our common life are not members. From every path—straight and narrow to wildly winding—you will find a kind and passionate congregation comprising students, young professiona

ls, retirees, artists and social workers, homeless folks and empty nesters, families with children, gay and straight couples and singles. Everyone at Holy Covenant has a story to share about why this church is different and why it feels like home. For some, it’s the time they brought their dog, cat or turtle to the annual Blessing of the Animals service. For others, it’s hearing the wailing guitars and Bono look-alikes during the U2 Eucharist. And for so many, it’s the moment they realized they were fully welcome—a feeling they may never have experienced within organized religion. Holy Covenant is not just about its parishioners. We practice our faith in the neighborhood through a range of services, such as offering food and hospitality to homeless youth on the streets of Lakeview and pushing aside the chairs in our sanctuary every Tuesday night to transform it into Dignity Diner, a restaurant-style meal for the homeless and hungry. This Friday, February 13, is our next Board Game Night at HC!

🎲 Suggested Donation of $10

🎲 You can join anytime and regardless of registration status (as long as we are under space capacity, 50 people)

🎲 We provide games, soft drinks, seltzers, and water. We may not have all the games you are looking for so PLEASE feel free to bring any game(s) you’d like to play and/or drinks (non-alcoholic) and food.

🎲 You’ll see silly, social party games, European economic simulators, social deduction experiences, and everything in-between. We love teaching the games, so even if you’re not familiar (yet!) with what games can do lately, you’ll come away having learned something new.

🎲 Your suggested donation of $10 (Venmo or cash) includes hours of gaming and all the beverages you care to drink, and it directly benefits the space rental fee and continued success of the event.

Looking forward to seeing you all for the 5th installment of this local board game meetup!

Holy Covenant UMC and Broadway UMC invite the wider community to gather in prayer, lament, and solidarity following the killing of Renee Nicole Good, and to remember all who have suffered or lost their lives due to government-sponsored violence.

This vigil will be a sacred space to grieve what has been lost, to speak the truth of our pain, and to pray for justice, accountability, and healing. We will hold silence, offer prayers, and light candles as an act of witness—naming our sorrow while affirming our shared commitment to life, dignity, and peace.

All are welcome—neighbors, friends, people of faith and conscience—to come as you are.

Please invite others who may need this space of prayer and solidarity.

Together, we will remember. Together, we will pray. Together, we will stand for life.
