This past Sunday evening, our church got together for a Potluck Hymn Sing- and it was glorious! We shared a delicious meal together, and then sang classic hymns including songs like Amazing Grace, Come Thou Fount, The Solid Rock, and more! 🎶

It was a wonderful evening seeing people from all different generations sing praise to the Lord. We’ll definitely do this again!🙌

Oftentimes we really want to decide how our life will go, as we often believe we’re the main character. But, following Jesus means surrendering the pen and recognizing that Jesus isn’t merely a character we add to “our story.” He is the Lord of our life.

Whose life is it anyway?

Not mine- His.

One of the highlights of this month was our Wise & Wonderful senior adult ministry’s Annual Luau potluck! From special hymns by the Valley Boyz, to delicious food, to a great message from Terry and more- we had a great time 🌺

EVERYONE is invited to the following similar happenings:

🥓8/30: Potluck Hymn Sing @ 6PM:
Join our church family in the Fellowship Hall- bring a dish, enjoy dinner together, & sing some classic hymns in the Fellowship Hall.

🎶 9/8: MAYBERRY MELODIES @ 10:30AM
The next Wise & Wonderful meeting is open to ANYONE. Join our senior adult ministry for a potluck & special Andy Griffith Show performance!

Kingdom Kids is our awesome program for K-5th graders 💙
You may have noticed we have new signs out front with arrows pointing guests to the right side of the building for Kingdom Kids entrance! Downstairs you’ll find the nursery / Pre-school area, and upstairs you’ll find our elementary schoolers!

Some of our girls wanted to help new guests know where to go and what to do, so enjoy this video showing you how to bring your K-5th graders to Kingdom Kids! We have programs for them on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings! 🤩

There is PURPOSE in the PAIN. The GLORY being prepared through our personal suffering for the gospel is the unseen souls of people who will be giving thanks forever around Jesus’ throne.

You don’t have to be an overseas missionary to live a cross-shaped life (though if you are called to global missions, that is AMAZING.) There is so much that can be done here, in Chattanooga.

Our Good News Club team is getting ready for another year of sharing Jesus with the next generation!💛

This weekend, several members of LVBC attended Child Evangelism Fellowship of Chattanooga’s annual Good News Conference, where volunteers were encouraged and equipped to serve children in our local public schools.

This year’s theme came from Psalm 78:4: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.”

Beginning in September, this team of volunteers will spend every Thursday afternoon at LVES leading Bible stories, worship songs, games, missionary stories, and more- all to share the good news of Jesus with children in our community!

Please join us in praying for our volunteers, the students they’ll meet, and the opportunity to share the Gospel each week!
