Healing is not meant to happen in isolation. Life-controlling issues often grow stronger when we withdraw, hide, or try to carry everything on our own. God designed us for honest, caring relationships where truth, prayer, encouragement, and accountability can help us keep moving toward freedom.

James 5:16 reminds us to confess, pray for one another, and believe God for healing. A Christ-centered community cannot do the work only Jesus can do, but it can provide a safe place where His grace, truth, and encouragement are experienced through others.

You were never meant to walk the road to freedom alone.

John 8:32 gets to the heart of Free to Grow: freedom begins when we are willing to face the truth. This study encourages us to honestly recognize the hurts, disappointments, rejection, and patterns from the past that may still be affecting our spiritual growth.

Jesus does not call us to ignore those wounds or remain trapped by them. As we bring them into the light of God’s truth, trust Him with what has happened, and allow His Word to shape our thinking, He leads us toward healing, maturity, and freedom in Christ.

The truth may uncover what has been holding us back—but in Christ, that truth also opens the door for us to be free to grow.

Freedom is often built one faithful choice at a time. One prayer. One honest conversation. One healthy boundary. One decision to walk away from temptation and move toward what God has for you.

Hebrews 12:1 reminds us to “run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Lasting change rarely happens in a single moment, but God uses consistent steps of obedience to strengthen our faith, build self-control, and help us keep moving forward.

Don’t underestimate today’s small choice. It may be part of the freedom God is building in your life.

Lasting freedom is not just about stopping an old behavior—it is about replacing it with something better.

Ephesians 4 reminds us to “put off” the old self and “put on” the new. As we replace unhealthy patterns with prayer, Scripture, worship, healthy relationships, accountability, and new responses to stress and pain, Christ begins to reshape the way we live.

Don’t just remove what is destructive. Fill that space with what brings life. Freedom grows as old patterns are replaced with new life in Christ.

Romans 12:2 speaks directly to the heart of Free to Grow: lasting change requires a renewed mind. The study encourages us to recognize the disappointments, hurts, and patterns that may have hindered our spiritual growth, then allow God to transform the way we think and live.

We are not called to stay trapped in old responses or shaped by the patterns of the past. As we surrender those areas to Christ and put His truth into practice, He helps us grow toward greater maturity, freedom, and wholeness.

Transformation is a process—but through God’s grace, we really can be free to grow.

Freedom doesn’t begin with trying harder—it begins with surrendering.

Jesus does more than help us manage destructive patterns. He changes our hearts, gives us a new identity, and gives us the strength to live differently. Surrendering is not weakness; it is trusting our lives to the One who can truly save, restore, and set us free.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
—John 8:36 NIV

Whatever has had a hold on you does not have to define your future. Surrender it to Jesus and take the next step toward lasting freedom.

What an encouraging reminder that transformation is possible when people are given hope, support, accountability, and a path forward.

Congratulations to these three graduates of the Transformation Project! Each graduation represents lives being changed and new chapters being written.

At Living Free, we’re grateful for ministries using Living Free curriculum to help people take courageous steps toward lasting freedom.

After a lot of work and dedication, three have graduated from the Transformation Project during a Sunday evening ceremony at Freedom Life Church.

Freedom in Christ means we no longer have to stay trapped by the hurts, disappointments, or patterns of the past. Free to Grow reminds us that as we trust God, live in His presence, and allow His Spirit to work in us, we can remove the masks, face what has held us back, and continue growing into the person He created us to be. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom—and that freedom gives us room to heal, grow, and move forward.

Sometimes the walls we build to protect ourselves end up protecting the very patterns that keep us stuck. Blaming, minimizing, hiding, and making excuses may feel safer in the moment, but they can keep us from facing the truth God wants to use to bring healing.

Proverbs 28:13 reminds us that mercy is found when we stop concealing and start surrendering. Freedom grows as we become honest with God, open ourselves to trustworthy relationships, and allow His grace to reach the places we have tried to hide.

Feelings are real, but they don’t always tell us the whole truth. Fear may tell us to run, shame may tell us to hide, and anger may tell us to react—but God’s Word gives us a better guide.

Romans 12:2 reminds us that lasting change begins with the renewing of our minds. We can acknowledge what we feel without allowing those feelings to control our choices. As we bring our emotions to God, measure them against His truth, and choose obedience, we can respond with wisdom instead of reaction.
