Commentary following Fr Seth's final homily at St Tikhon's before his departure:

"Fr. Seth began serving at St. Tikhons during a time when our current priest was growing elderly and feeble. We needed a solid, godly man as a successor to grow our parish and Fr. Seth Earl stepped up.

Orthodoxy nationwide has seen a remarkable revival of growth, and Fr. Seth has been able to faithfully bring this harvest into the church. He has taught inquirers, instructed catechumens, and diligently chrismated and baptized so many new members of St. Tikhons.

Fr. Seth has an extraordinary gift in administration. All you have to do is listen to announcements and see that he had several plates spinning at once, several different classes and clean up days and mission council meetings, etc. He also was the first person to build our website—before he ever served a liturgy at St. Tikhons—and he has done a remarkable job in every aspect of our digital presence. Almost everyone gets to our church by first being exposed to us online, and I would wager that our website is as good any orthodox website anywhere.

Finally, Fr. Seth is a man of integrity. As evidenced by his recent final homily, his life's motivation is to serve Christ and his Church. Having experienced leaders in the past where that was not always the case, I will say that we have been immeasurably blessed to have this faithful servant labor for us the past several years."
