I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

We are supporting the St. James Community Mission Center in Ferrum, which is run by St. James United Methodist Church. Their clothes supply is good at this time. However, their food pantry is getting low...and they use certain foods as they deliver some weekly meals. Current needs include, but aren’t limited to, canned fruit, 8 oz block sharp cheddar cheese, 1 lb. frozen ground turkey, 1 lb. frozen hamburger, soup, saltine crackers, dry spaghetti, toilet paper and paper towels. You may drop off food or volunteer to help on Wednesday mornings between 8 am - 12:00 noon at 9593 Franklin Street, Ferrum, VA 24088. Monetary donations may be mailed to PO Box 38, Ferrum, VA 24088. Thank you!

2 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

WORSHIP IN PRAYER:

May the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our strength and our redeemer. Touch us, we pray, with your Holy Spirit. Fill us with your truth, your goodness, and your love. Cause us to be the people that you would have us to be. May the presence of your son, Jesus Christ, reign over us. Bind us, we pray, into the fellowship He gave his life to create, even your church. Heal the infirmities of our bodies and our souls. Lead us in your ways for your name's sake. Amen and Amen!

Thanks to the 25 people who came to our movie night on August 21, to Brandon and Logan who led some very cool line dancing, to Hannah and Pat who led some games, to everyone who brought food and co****le and all the other things, and to Keith and his helpers for setting everything up outside. It was a great time.
