The park was acquired by Evergreen Memorial Trust in 1984 and has more than doubled in size and opened additional facilities since then, providing families with greater burial options. igned to accommodate all faiths, customs, and traditions. The Park offers a burial section reserved for our nation’s veterans where they can rest in honor alongside fellow service members. Mountain View Memorial Park also honors our military with displays on our Avenue of Flags on six patriotic holidays. We invite families to visit the park to enjoy the display and remember the men and women who offered themselves in service to our nation. Adjacent to Mountain View Memorial Park lies Forest Rest Natural Cemetery, the only natural burial location of its type within a hundred plus miles in every direction.

Reminder: Mountain View Memorial Park Hosts 9th Annual Flag Retirement Event on June 13

Mountain View Memorial Park is proud to announce its 9th Annual Flag Retirement Event, taking place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065. This meaningful ceremony provides an opportunity for the community to properly retire American flags that are no longer fit for display, in accordance with US Flag Code.

Franklin County High School Air Force JROTC Cadets will lead the official retirement service, demonstrating the respect and care that our national symbol deserves.

Community members are encouraged to bring their worn or weathered American flags to the event for proper disposal. All Evergreen Memorial Trust locations have flag collection boxes where flags can be deposited prior to the event. Support the Franklin County High School Air Force JROTC, Mountain View Memorial Park, and Evergreen Memorial Trust, and take part in this proud tradition by helping ensure our nation’s flag is honored with dignity.
