Located in a rural area outside Boones Mill, VA, Mountain View Memorial Park boasts the peaceful surroundings of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountain chain. The park was acquired by Evergreen Memorial Trust in 1984 and has more than doubled in size and opened additional facilities since then, providing families with greater burial options. Mountain View offers a wide range of services and options des

igned to accommodate all faiths, customs, and traditions. The Park offers a burial section reserved for our nation’s veterans where they can rest in honor alongside fellow service members. Mountain View Memorial Park also honors our military with displays on our Avenue of Flags on six patriotic holidays. We invite families to visit the park to enjoy the display and remember the men and women who offered themselves in service to our nation. Adjacent to Mountain View Memorial Park lies Forest Rest Natural Cemetery, the only natural burial location of its type within a hundred plus miles in every direction.

Join Evergreen Memorial Trust on Saturday, May 23, at 10:00 a.m. as we gather to honor those who gave everything for our country. This year’s program reflects on America 250 and the enduring legacy of service that has shaped our nation.

Keynote speaker Mike Hudson, Executive Director of the Smithfield-Preston Foundation and noted cemetery historian, will present “A Soldier’s Story,” bringing history and sacrifice to life. The ceremony will also feature period reenactors, participants in historic costume, and the playing of taps by Gary Duerk.
