The labels placed on us were never meant to define us. This past Sunday, Pastor Eric continued our Identity series with Labels Must Fall, staying in the story of Gideon to show how God calls us beyond fear, insecurity, and false identity. Too often we live under labels formed by past failures, opinions, or limitations, but God speaks a different word over our lives. Freedom begins when we stop agreeing with what’s been spoken over us and start embracing who God says we are in Christ.

Pastor Eric continued our Identity teaching series yea with a powerful message titled The Labels Must Fall. Using the story of Gideon, we were reminded that God sees far beyond our fear, insecurity, and past failures. Gideon had to choose obedience and trust God’s voice over the labels that had been placed on him—and in doing so, he stepped into the identity God had always intended for him.

So often, fear tries to keep us hidden and stuck in old mindsets, but God calls us forward into freedom, purpose, and courage. When we begin to see ourselves through God’s perspective instead of our own limitations, everything starts to change.

If you missed the service, you can watch the full message on our YouTube channel and be encouraged to let go of old labels and walk confidently in who God says you are.

This is what Memorial Day weekend is all about. It’s a time to remember all of the amazing men and women who paid the ultimate price serving and fighting for our great country. Today we celebrate our freedom because of their sacrifice!

How we see ourselves shapes how we live. This past Sunday, Pastor Steve kicked off our new Identity series with From Winepress to Warrior, looking at the life of Gideon in Judges. Even while Gideon saw weakness and limitation, God spoke to him from a completely different perspective. We were reminded that identity is not formed by fear, failure, or insecurity—but by who God says we are in Christ. When we begin to see ourselves through His lens, courage and purpose start to rise.

Mothers carry a unique strength that often shows up in quiet sacrifice, steady faith, and constant care. This past Sunday, Pastor Steve Crowder shared an encouraging Mother’s Day message titled To Be a Mom, honoring the impact moms make while also offering practical encouragement for self-care and support. We were reminded that healthy, supported moms help build healthy homes, and that God sees both the visible and unseen ways they pour into others every day.

What a special and encouraging Sunday at Highway!

Yesterday, Pastor Steve shared a heartfelt Mother’s Day message titled To Be a Mom, reminding us of the powerful influence a mother has in building her home with wisdom, love, strength, and faith. Through Scripture, we were encouraged that the investment moms make every single day has eternal value and lasting impact.

We also talked practically about the importance of caring for the women who care for everyone else—encouraging moms to prioritize spiritual and emotional health, while challenging husbands and children to intentionally support, honor, and strengthen them along the way.

When a home is built with wisdom and centered on Christ, it becomes a place of stability, encouragement, and growth for everyone inside it.

If you missed the service, you can watch the full message on our YouTube channel and be encouraged by this timely reminder about the value and influence of godly mothers.

Following Jesus is not a one-time decision—it’s a daily commitment. This past Sunday, Pastor Steve concluded our Follow series with No Turning Back, reminding us that discipleship is built through lifelong devotion and daily discipline. Jesus calls us to more than emotional moments or temporary passion; He calls us to faithfully walk with Him over the long haul. Real growth happens when we continue saying yes to Him day after day, even when it costs us something.

If you want to catch the rest of this message from Pastor Steve and revisit this teaching on lasting discipleship, head over to our YouTube page.

Sunday was a call to full commitment in our walk with Jesus.

Pastor Steve concluded our Follow teaching series with a message titled No Turning Back. We were challenged to make a once-and-for-all decision to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, leaving behind anything that competes with our devotion to Him.

Following Jesus isn’t meant to be casual or temporary—it’s a lifelong commitment. It’s choosing daily to move forward in faith, without looking back, fully surrendered to His leadership.

When that decision is settled, everything changes. Our direction becomes clear, our resolve grows stronger, and our lives reflect a deep confidence in the One we’re following.

If you missed the service, you can watch the full message on our YouTube channel and be encouraged to live with a faith that says, “no turning back.”

Following Jesus calls for more than interest—it calls for surrender. This past Sunday, Pastor Matthew continued our Follow series with The Cost of Following, challenging us with the truth that discipleship requires dying to our own plans and taking up our cross daily. Jesus doesn’t offer a convenient path, but a purposeful one. When we lay down our will and trust His, we discover a life that is shaped by eternity and marked by true transformation.

If you want to catch the rest of this message from Pastor Matthew and revisit this teaching on the cost of discipleship, head over to our YouTube page.

Sunday at Highway Community Church challenged us to go deeper in what it really means to follow Jesus.

Pastor Matthew continued our Follow teaching series with a message titled The Cost of Following. Through the call to take up our cross and die to self, we were reminded that following Jesus requires surrender—laying down our own desires to fully embrace His will.

Following Jesus isn’t about convenience; it’s about commitment. It calls us to deny ourselves, trust His leading, and choose obedience even when it’s difficult.

When we embrace the cost, we discover the reward. A life surrendered to Christ leads to true freedom, purpose, and a deeper relationship with Him.

If you missed the service, you can watch the full message on our YouTube channel and be encouraged to follow Jesus with a life fully surrendered.
