Hello Church,
Ok. So… after much discussion and phone calls and such, I am going to cancel Sunday Service this week due to heavy snow and that many of our members travel over distance and overall, it’s just not prudent. I will, Lord willing and computer cooperating, give a light message from home via Facebook to embolden your personal worship at home. Do set aside a time for personal worship on Sunday. Don’t forsake worship simply because we’re not together. Remember the many of our brothers and sisters worshipping in isolated prison cells or social isolation at least. The Lord comes more vibrantly to those who cannot reach the local church. This is only the second Sunday we have canceled service in my 16 years at Open Door but it seems this is the time to do so. Next Sunday, February 1, 2026 will resume our regular services and our Annual Business Meeting.
Consequently, I will have to cancel our usual ministry at Millville Gardens Nursing Home on February 1 because we will be having our Annual Business Meeting at that time.
February 1 will still be Communion Sunday.
Another very important announcement is looking ahead to Sunday February 8, we will be enjoying a light refreshment after service and a special presentation from Thrivent Financial Services concerning Biblically minded investing and financial planning. It is a very special opportunity for you to gain insight into better management of Our Lord’s wealth that He has apportioned for you to manage. Diane Kelchner did tremendous work arranging this event and I hope many will avail themselves of it.
