The Fall Family Gathering (or FFG, as everyone calls it) is this wonderfully grounding retreat hosted every autumn by the Upper Susquehanna Quarterly Meeting. It’s held up at Crystal Lake Camps in Hughesville, PA —which is honestly the perfect spot for it because it’s tucked away in the mountains, right by the water, and surrounded by late-September fall foliage. The whole vibe is really about stepping out of the weekday chaos to slow down, reconnect with nature, and catch your breath with community. Every year has a central theme, and for 2026 it's "Finding Your Rhythm". Here is what making a weekend of it actually looks like:
The Vibe & Daily Life - It’s super informal and multi-generational. Families, kids, older Friends, and newcomers all hang out together. You stay right on site in the camp's cozy cabins or lodges , eat shared meals together in Alford Hall , and split your time between organized workshops and just relaxing by the lake.
