Join us this Sunday as we welcome Rev. Dr. Eric Atcheson as our guest preacher! 🙌

Rev. Dr. Atcheson will share a message titled “Proof of Delivery”, based on Exodus 1:8–2:10.

Eric is an ordained pastor and endorsed chaplain in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He has served congregations in Washington State and Alabama and currently ministers as a staff chaplain at UAB St. Vincent’s East, alongside BCOC’s own Ann Carol Mann.

He is also the author of Oregon Trail Theology and On Earth as it is in Heaven. Eric lives in Hoover with his wife, Carrie, their daughter, Sadie, and their two dogs, Aretha and Frida.

We’re grateful to welcome Eric and look forward to worshiping together! ❤️

We welcome Sara Hunt-Felke to our pulpit. Sara is a member here alongside her husband TJ and their daughters Adelina and Nora. She was born and raised in Tampa, went to Samford, and completed her Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. During the week, she works as the Youth Program Coordinator at Passport Camps, and in her spare time, you'll find her baking sourdough, doing hand embroidery, watercoloring, or (in her own words) generally dilly-dallying.

Tomorrow morning at BCOC, we welcome Elizabeth Lott to our pulpit. 🕊

Elizabeth is an ordained minister who spent 25 years in congregational ministry through the Alliance of Baptists and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Since leaving parish ministry, she's worked as a writer, consultant, teacher, and public speaker. She partners with Partners for Sacred Places, coaching communities of faith on stewarding their brick-and-mortar spaces toward the callings they carry. Let’s welcome Pastor Elizabeth to BCOC tomorrow!

Foster brings decades of experience in social justice, racial justice, and faith-based community work to share her sermon "Pulling Weeds" based on Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43. From her roots in Birmingham's historic Smithfield neighborhood to her current work with Greater Birmingham Ministries and the Selma Center for Nonviolence, Rev. Foster is called to bring people together across difference and work toward justice.

Faith shows up, week after week, neighbor to neighbor. 🤝 This Sunday, July 19, is our 3rd Sunday Food Drive for Greater Birmingham Ministries. Pantry needs include non-perishables — canned vegetables, beans, fruit, meat, soup, cereal, flour, sugar, jelly, pasta, peanut butter, rice. Collection boxes will be in the narthex and alley lobby. Can't make it? Consider donating to GBM the amount you would've spent. Thank you for helping fill the pantry.
